The Decade that Was: Essential Technology

Gaming is a medium heavily driven by technology. Books haven't changed a whole lot since they sorted out that whole "moveable type" thing, and it's not like movies have gotten any smarter or more interesting since they replaced fake-looking stop-motion with fake-looking CG.

But videogames, they're different. Games are easily into generations divided to cyclical iterations of increasingly powerful hardware.
