In a way, Gamer 2.0 believes that the developers of Manhunt 2 deserve this. Judging from the hands-on descriptions of a certain popular internet gaming news site, there are not only incredibly brutal depictions of violence in the game, but these inhumanities are rewards for effective use of the game's mechanics. Gamer 2.0 can understand that the majority of videogames are based on a very simple live or die formula, and they can understand that some people might want entertaining depictions of violence. But to enjoy so immensely the pain and death of anything (virtual or not) seems...evil.
Why wouldn't Gamer 2.0 want a game like this banned and condemned? Well, for starters, there's the issue of censorship. Make no mistake-what the ESRB has done is censored the game. They're fully aware that most retailers will not carry AO (Adults Only) titles because they just don't sell.
