Atlus is letting their fans vote for the next world tendency event in Demon's Souls.
I have to say, the community aspects are quite nice. I think I would like a Dark World Tendency though-- when I started Demon's Souls it was when it was Light Tendency so things were a little easy for me. ALSO, I hope they announce DLC soon. I want to touch that broken archstone and enter that world of giants which easily sounds like the best one (Shadow of the Colossus bosses FTW). Come on you guys, I know you have DLC tucked away! I dream of a sequel too, hopefully DS2 is considered.
It dawned on me that the last area (with the Old One) was probably the land of the giants. Noticed a huge (30 foot high) sword buried in the ground, so....
The dark tendencies are harder (if you can believe that, lol), but the loot and experience you can get is greater. Anyway, I think that Demons Souls is easily one of the best RPG's I've ever had the pleasure of playing. I only got to explore it a little while when enjoying it at my friend's house, but the effect lasted with me for a great while.
ugh, I really want to play Demon's Souls, but rpgs use too much of my time. Lots of physics homework and EE programs kill my time in the semester. Can Demon's Souls be started and stopped easily, or must you play for large chucks of time?
I doubt there will ever be any DLC for demons souls considering how long its been out in japan =( But something tells me that at e3 this year it will be announced that the sequel is coming. I think that Demons Souls did way better than From Software originally thought it would. =)
Pure Black World Tendency. I want to see people burn. ;o
A boss run? ...! DO YOU SERIOUSLY WANT TO SEE A BOSS RUN!!!! Edit: oh yeah, the broken stone...
Demon's Souls will consume your life and everything in-between. Buts its all so worth it! Trust me, its an experience that you don't want to miss out on...as these type of games are few and far between.
In all honesty, it's one of those RPGs you can take a little at a time if you wanted to. It has no real RPG-like story, but just a very haunting backdrop. I suggest you pick it up, it's my 2009 GOTY :) Pick it up and play it-- it will take you about 20 minutes to finally start your quest after you go through the character creation and tutorial, and then the short cutscene but after that you are free to continue the game at your own pace. It also auto saves like every 2 seconds lol, so don't worry about being forced to play for long periods of time. I have put in about 50 hours and I am still going. I just pray for DLC and Demons Souls 2. I keep playing it because it's so addictive but I don't want it to end :( If it matters: Demon's Souls is the only RPG I've gotten fully into since Dark Cloud 2 on the PS2. I've played both Oblivion and Fallout and found myself really bored rather quickly but Demon's Souls is continuously fresh, the action is tight and the whole experience is well-paced. Marvelous game, it's in my top 10 of all time. Anyways, I'll stop talking now, I tend to talk a lot :)
only 50 hrs?? i've put in 89 hrs n that was only for first playthrough. i admit i was scared to venture into new places bcoz its that creepy! so all i did was farm n level up. but i finally beat the game once. n doesnt everyone tend to talk a lot when comes to DS? its so good n satisfying that you'll need a novel to explain it or a book of poetry. q: i hope there's a sequel... there obviously is. the world of broken stone. i wanna go there.
Whatever they do, better it raise the pure bladestone drop rate... 0.05% of drop chance is ridiculous for a crap stone (I would understand for Clearstone, but I had like 5 of them by my 3rd playthrough, before getting one from Ostrava and after making a Quality Winged Spear +5 in my first playthrough). The worst part of it is that this is the only trophy keeping me away from platinum, I just finished the 4th playthrough and already tried farming for some time on 4th world's last BP just like I have been always before (great place to lvl up too), using LSS (would have made a female char if I knew about the bracelets that raise item drop before) and it just won't drop! I have like 180 hours in this char alone... I just don't have the perseverance to keep trying and get dissapointed anymore... Maybe I'm just unlucky but it was supposed to be a punishing game, not an awkward one (not that the entire game is awkward, but this tiny detail is driving me crazy).
An excellently reviewed game. Love from gamers and journalists alike. But still no European release. I know SCEE are concerned about whether it will have appeal in the EU but surely a bit of advertising will get the message to the masses. Crazy isn't it?
I will die from happiness when they announce Demon's Souls 2.
You are gonna need a Stone of Ephemeral Eyes ;)
I would soooo love an underwater world archstone where you are immersed in deep blue ocean water for maybe 70% of the time or something and fight water based Demons... but not some swamp land thingy like archstone 5, argh, that place was depressing lol Gads, this game has me so giddy at times it just can't be healthy.
did not make ds u got to go to softwere or sony 4 that.
Think about what you just wrote. You want cool, relaxing - beautiful? - colors in the world of Demon's Souls. You'll be lucky if the murky waters you do get aren't so black and clouded you get to see what's about to attack you at three feet!.
Just look at the sea in 4-1 and 4-2 and 4-3. Imagine walking down to it or diving off a cliff top into that sea and battling Demons under there. That's more what I'm talking about. Yeah it's blue..or greenish grey or something but that's what I was talking about and not deep sea coral diving. All Demon Souls areas were dark medevil but some were just heavily depressing like 3rd and 5th archstones. Doesn't mean I want rainbows in Demon Souls II I just stated I wouldn't like the atmosphere to be like 5-2 or 1-1 rather than something more like the 4-2 archstone area Boleteria has a blueish tinge to it but that doesn't make it walking in a meadow does it?
Are you honestly talking about diving into deep water while wearing *ARMOR*?! Much less fighting monsters while trying to swim in armor.
I love the idea of a Bioshock-type underground cave. Of course it will have to fit the setting of Demon's Souls. In 4-2 (the world after the broken archstone) there is this scene where you come out of a cave and walk along a cliff overlooking a beach (with those flying sting rays). It was eerily beautiful and I would love a setting in nature, either in some creepy woods or near water. The beach in Demon's Souls' 4-2 world was stunning and creepy, bodies of flying sting rays everywhere-- it was absolutely fantastic. Maybe they could make a level that combined underwater caves with some other water elements. The point is, we want Demon's Souls 2
I chose black tendancy because i want to fight black phantoms and get the things that they drop.
Yup, BT ftw. BT seems to be in the lead right now too.
DS players are just suckers for punishment. Damn-near masochistic.
ha ha yeah... darn these people n i thought it was already hard enuf. i guess i better try finishing it as much as i can. just started 2nd playthrough.
I chose White World Tendency so that I can beat 3-1 and 3-2 in peace. Still on my second trip around!
need White World Tendency to pass some of the bosses
Haha those poll choices are funny, I went with Atlus loves me
*squeals like a little girl* omg omg omg. I was thinking about the world tendency events YESTERDAY, and why they haven't done one for a while.. I swear, I'm frickin telepathic/psychic or something.
lol @ "*squeals like a little girl*" my friend was at home once when i playing DS so suddenly i cheered like a girl n said "YAY" n after a sec both of us were like "wtf". so i told him that the game is so scary, it has turned me into a pu$$y. lol. great game.
You have to be a masochist to not have an on/off relationship with this game. The amount of tension this game brings is just unhealthy(?) and leaves your hands, literally, cold because of sheer fright of death. Having said that though, I think it's one of the best RPG games I've ever played. =] Demon's Souls 2 please! ^^
i guess i'm one then. totally agree.. this game has given me so much of chills, i've lost count. same with the deaths too. yup DS2 please.
I feel that From Software would screw up if they pulled a Demon's Souls 2. They need to make a game in the "same style" as Demon's Souls, but at no point feel like they have to play by the rules Demon's Souls layed out. In other words, A tense (real tension), difficult game (but never cheap)...and the rest....Go Nuts From Software.
You know...you could be right From Software tends to go a little over the top with their sequels and completely change the game. Lol over the years Ive watched them destroy my once beloved franchise (Armored Core)over and over again. But I still want them to make another Demons Souls. I love that game! Im pretty sure they will announce it some time this year...I have a feeling about these kinds of things.
