PS3 is in it for the long haul

The last six months have been tough for Sony and even tougher for the company's gaming division. In posting its annual financials at the end of March, the company reported an operating loss in that area of nearly US$2 billion. Sony's financial report stated that the red ink was "the result of loss arising from the sale of PS3s at strategic price points lower than its production cost…as well as the recording of other charges in association with preparation for the launch of the PS3 platform".

Consumer-research company NPD Group reported that sales of the PS3 console in Canada were 6,500 in May. In the same period, Nintendo Canada sold 37,300 Wiis, Sony Canada sold 18,200 PS2s, and Microsoft Canada moved 12,300 Xbox 360s.

1)This isn't a positive article its more of a keep your head up and be confident article.
2)I have a right to my opinion guaranteed by the Bill of Rights.
3)I'm very open to others views and opinions but for Stringer to say that they are on a comeback and then for this article to come out and contradict him well that just deserves a smartass remark.
4)I didn't bash the PS3 hell I didn't even mention the PS3 I was talking about Stringer.

You have a point so I take back what I said.

The article states that they are in it for the long run and its easy for someone to give criticizm on something thats been out for 7 to 8 months. This aint no "keep your head up" article its a common sense article and its funny how you try to use the "Comeback" article as if this one disagrees or contradicts it when in actuality it doesnt.

Stringer just made the comaback statement what do you expect to get hit with the ps3's comeback almost instantly? its stupid. You're saying nothing that hasn't already been said or complained about and you talking about it doesn't make sony get it done anymore faster than what they are trying to do.

Ps3 is facing the same shortage almost every other game did its first year into launch.

"I have a right to my opinion guaranteed by the Bill of Rights."
I love it how they all say that before they say something stupid.

Everyone is entitled to their thoughts and their opinions are no lesser value than yours or mines...But at the same time I can agree with you FordGTguy...

I actually agree with FordGTGuy. I'm rather a fan of PS3 but... where is the comeback? I sure hope it will be E3. If this E3 isn't the comeback, then... I dont know what then but since games like MGS4 and FFXIII aren't coming this year while new Mario, SSBB and Halo 3 are, I think they throw so much down that it may never fully be able to catch up with Wii/360. Unless this E3 blows everyone away, games like Killzone 2 dont disappoint, Sony PS3 doesn't lose any more exclusives and finally, get some new exclusives/ steal some from 360.

Then they need to attract some really good 3rd party developers to develop for them and I think they can get back in the game. I think one of the main reasons the PS3 went downhill is because they stopped looking at it as a console and started looking at it as a Blu-Ray Player. Once they get back in touch with what they PS3 really is your going to see a comeback but not any sooner. I think the perfect example of this theory is the Wii it can't even play a DVD yet its the #1 seller, Why? Because its pure gaming and nothing else.

There are games for Wii? Wii sell becoz of the dildo that it came with...nothing else...if it has regular controller like xbox 360 or one will buy it, even if it is a pure game console...once people bored with over for wii....
