GamingTrend writes: "The first memory I have of an arcade game was this one tabletop arcade box that allowed two players to play Space Invaders from opposite sides of the table. It had colored glass over the screen that would change the colors of the aliens as they came closer to the cannon. The cabinet had a joystick to move the cannon left or right and a button to fire. The little alien invaders became instantly recognizable. Even the Jaws-like music during the invasion became an instant classic. Since then several ports and clones have come about, but none were able to capture the same magic until Space Invaders Extreme came out on the PSP and DS. The surprising hit has now garnered a sequel with Space Invaders Extreme 2."

Space Invaders Extreme was a prime example of this, with excellent gameplay that was just a few tweaks short of perfection, taking a classic game and finding exactly the right way to twist it into something new and enjoyable. Space Invaders Extreme 2 simply takes this concept and runs further with it, with the end result essentially being an 8-bit version of Rez. This is as awesome as it sounds, and as a result, Space Invaders Extreme 2 is one of the strongest games on the DS system."
DreamStation writes: "My biggest complaints about Space Invaders Extreme 2 are that the branches are fairly short (only about 5 levels long each), and the game really lacks many options as far as new and exciting game modes. Otherwise, playing through the same branches over again can sometimes become repetitive but it is still fun to attempt to beat your old score."
Cool, my girlfriend loves the first game and just recently beat it, looks like i'll be picking this up next week.
