Price Cut to Hurt PS3 Sales in the Long Run?

Nintendo seems to be setting itself up to be de-throned as the reigning console champion. They only have a handful of worthwhile games coming out this year, compared to the plethora of exclusives the PS3 has planned. If there was a time to get the jump on them, it'd be now.

Either Jump in, or Jump out. You don't have the DNA to do it, Sony.

@1.1: btw, it's "pwned" not owned. But then again, what would a lemming know about online lingo, n00b.

Sony is a company...and therefore...has no DNA.

I'd say you got owned...but you should probably get off these forums before someone that's not as kind as me destroys any hope you have for your precious system.

GrooveChampion3776d ago

It can be owned or pwned. The only reason people type pwned is because back in the day people would try to type "owned" too fast and instead type "pwned".

"But then again, what would a lemming know about online lingo."
Indeed.

LeonSKennedy4Life, this is the second time I've seen you proclaim your ownage of a fellow gamer. That's extremely lame. Let your ownage speak for itself, or an observer of the ownage. If you really do own someone, someone else will surely call it out. You don't have to say you owned someone every time you do it, even if you know you did.

That's what I always say.

Sony just needs to do something because it's obviously not working at the moment.

They need a price cut so that they're system falls into a range that people can consider purchasing it. They need games too. Games are coming and by the end of the year, we'll see some good stuff for sure. The price cut is up in the air although, I don't see how Sony can continue like this. I have plenty of friends that are waiting for a PS3 price drop so they can trade in their PS2's.

working or not working is too early to tell..
Maybe PS3 are in this image building phrase. branding PS3 into High prices luxury gaming machine. When the price finally drop, it should create some rush to buy it. After all, you don't see people with hot cakes Wii get robbed very often. When average low-life thiefs are eyeing on PS3, it might mean that PS3 already potraited as Luxury gaming machine.

I don't see how a price cut would hurt sales...if they cut their prices I would actually buy one. As it is now, I will not buy one (not that I don't want one). I understand a price cut may cause sony to lose money on each console they sell, but they could easily make that up in software sales...especially since they are still charging $59.99 per game.

A decrease in price will always lead to an increase in demand...I really don't see the problem.
