They Live

L4D.com writes: With our last update having come out a few weeks ago and the next one a few weeks out, we wanted to let people know what we are working on. In addition to "The Passing" DLC, we are working on some other updates coming for both PC and 360. While not a complete list by any means, we wanted to give a heads up on a few Versus changes coming.

Bots
We are adding bots for the Infected team to help out the Infected when they are down a man or two. This will also make 1v1 Versus a bit more fun.

Auto-spawning
We've also been experimenting with a solution for auto-spawning in Versus finales. Even though it's pretty obvious from the L4D forums that EVERYONE LOVES auto-spawning in finales, we figured, what the hell-we'd just go ahead and remove auto-spawning anyway. But before we make any change to Versus we always need to see how the game is currently being played. (Left 4 Dead 2, PC, Xbox 360)

This is exactly what this game needs.

Yeah I agree I'm happy they are adding special infected bots to versus mode. It was always a pain when you were down a person or two and were against a team of 4 human players.

I hope it doesn't change too much. I'd hate to seem them frick this game up.

That's unlikely its Valve!

I like the idea of bot infected in VS. My friend has a weird connection issue which causes him to lose his connection to the game every couple minutes, and has to rejoin. A bot placeholder would be handy.

Thats the biggest problem with the game. People quitting out leaving you short handed..Or just getting dropped. I actually stopped playing versus because it seemed like this was happening a lot.

I wonder if the bot difficulty can be changed. How would it work?

What I wish they would do
I wish that Valve would make a fix for the dumb as rocks survivor bots. Remember L4D1 before the april update of the survival pack? The bots were smart and pulled their own weight. After that, they were dumb as shizz, and in L4D2 they are even more stupid, surprisingly. In Expert Realism, or any campaign difficulty honestly, if someone goes down, the bot will get stuck in a loop of trying to pick them up over and over, regardless of the fact that zombies are, in fact, beating them down, instead of killing the zombies that are killing them THEN picking the person up. It's so annoying. & if you get smoked or huntered, and they are right beside you, they'll take 5 hours to smack you free, for no apparent reason. Also, the bots don't even keep up, even at full health. The whole team will be off somewhere else and you'll see a bot 50 miles back, all alone. It's ridic.
