Church of England thanks Sony for apology but it's not enough

Sony's sorry, but Church of England officials say it's not enough.
On Friday the CoE posted on its website a letter from SCEE's president, David Reeves (left). The letter read in part:

Please understand that Resistance: Fall of Man is a work of science fiction…

But what does Church say about Sony's apology?

An apology was all the Catholic church thought was needed to be done about child molestation. And this issue is far less disturbing than that.
Man, don't you follow that forgiving guy after all?

MK_Red3507d ago

But no, they dont follow the forgiving one. As everyone knew, Church was in it for money, they want Sony's money and now this proves it more than ever.

I can't beliving these [email protected]@cking greedy bastards! I thought forgivenes was something they do... This is just sad. A science-fiction futuristic game set in the PAST. Are they upset that they think in the eyes of everyone that now people with think that violence is what the church was created from or founded on? Or maybe people could just open a damn history book and look up all the "crusades" the church did in the past. O well, I guess were just working our way to living hell on earth.

Leathersoup3507d ago

and depicted priests chasing choir boys and buggering em would that be acceptable?

Sigh... stupid organized crim..... religion.

peksi3506d ago

Greedy bastards. Now they are against violence when they have a chance to earn money. There are more wrongs in the world than a videogame.

about the money. Kinda sad to use ones belief system to profit. Sacrilage in the utmost form. Hethens.

Adriokor3507d ago

the church looses revenue, less sheep means less money. Maybe they should do the crusades again to keep up their high standard of living.

As I predicted from the start. They "say" they wanted 4 things

1. remove the game from the shelves
2. Donation
3. an apology
4. Assistance for fighting against gun crime.

While 3 has been done, I believe 1 and 4 really.... doesn't matter.
What really matters is 2. Remember the term Indulgences from a couple of hundred of years ago?

Lets look it up on Wiki
Indulgence, in Roman Catholic theology, is the (full or partial) remission of temporal punishment due to sins which have already been forgiven. The indulgence is granted by the church after the sinner has confessed and received absolution.[1]
Historically indulgences were a major point of contention when Martin Luther initiated the Protestant Reformation.

It's been done hundreds of years ago and it isn't going to stop now. It works because people pay respect to them and don't want to get in trouble with the church.
I say screw them. Damn game is about aliens, not about guns.
