NPD: '09 "a turning point" for PS3

"It's never been a better time to be a PS3 owner," SCEA's community boss Patrick Seybold stated.

"It's no surprise we've seen PS3 units sold every month nearly double since October. We knew 2009 would be a turning point for the platform due to the new price and a content line up that is fuelling unprecedented consumer and industry interest.

"The consumer response has simply been overwhelming and we anticipate the high demand for PS3 to continue into the coming months as we work closely with retail to meet the demand.

The story is too old to be commented.

Now that the ball's rolling, be sure not to let it stop Sony. Keep delivering great titles(Please Disgaea 4)since 2010 will determine whether you can get the 2nd place or not.

I dont care how far behind they are to the sheep. The ps3 is my number 1 console. Especially since Microsoft wants me to buy live for the 3rd year. No thanks.

is definitely going to be an interesting one...

Both MS and Sony have some blockbusters coming out this year, their consoles are competively priced, and I'd hope the economy will pick up this year...

At this point, I believe it's anyone's "ball game".

PS3

MAG
Heavy Rain
GoWIII
GT5
Agent (I think)
Resistance 3 (I think)
Agency

360

Mass Effect 2
Alan Wake
SC:C
Perfect Dark XBLA
Probably some others (I haven't been paying attention to 360 that much recently)

Also Dead Space 2, Bioshock 2 and FFXIII, and NMH2 and Red Steel 2 look really good on Wii.

...

GODDAMMIT. I'M SICK OF MISSING AWESOME GAMES EVERY YEAR BECAUSE THERE ARE TOO MANY. GEARS, BATMAN AA, RE DSC AND DIRT 2 AMONG OTHERS ALL SIT THERE ON THE STORE SHELF, MOCKING ME. BUT NO MORE. I'M PLAYING EVERY SINGLE GAME THIS YEAR THAT I WANT TO, AND I DON'T CARE WHAT I HAVE TO DO TO DO SO. :@@@@@

On-topic: Good for Sony, PS3 is awesome, etc. etc. :D
