What Happened to the Holy Grail?

Kombo: Over the years, PC emulation of classic game consoles, and more recently, legal retro download services have quietly and progressively taken a bite out of videogame resale value over the years.

Any machine older than the Dreamcast (and yes..even Dreamcast) can be run on a modern PC, and usually at higher quality than the original hardware, and most of your more mainstream favorites can be easily found on the Virtual Console, Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, GameTap, iPhone, and the upcoming Microsoft Game Room.

This results in a lot of low income or casual gamers simply going for the more accessible route of just jumping on their current platforms and downloading a classic for cheap, or the "super cheap bastards" just plugging a USB controller into their PC rather than jumping into the high priced world of classic game collecting.

The story is too old to be commented.
