"No cuts made" YEESSS!!!!!! Thats what i care about!
So glad i can play the game unedited and as is intact!
Can't wait to play it honestly!!! =D

Tainted Gene5218d ago

That this is concerning UK and not the USA. U know how insane we (the media) get over here in the west about bare boobies. But chainsaw/snipe someone in the forehead is all kosher though...."sighs"... .. hypocrites.

Blaze9295218d ago

of course it will be edited for the USA release, which sucks for us. Will no doubt just import a copy maybe

AssassinHD5218d ago (Edited 5218d ago )

Actually that is a bit of a misconception. Nudity is not really an issue in the U.S.. Our censor groups have a problem with on-screen sex. Nudity will still make it an M rated game in the U.S. though.

gaffyh5218d ago

That's a surprise, I honestly expected an 18 rating.

TOO PAWNED5218d ago

in USA yes, not in EU. We don't make big deal about sex and boobs

Shane Kim5218d ago

Sex and naked women are not as controversial here as in US. But I honestly wonder why a game like GTA has 18 here i EU but not this. This game looks way more mature and brutal a la silence of the lambs than any game I know of. (Except for Silent Hill and Manhunt and such.)

blackpanther255218d ago

at 10 or 11 o'clock they start showing tits on regular tv and nobody was surprised by this besides me...I thought it was the porno channels until i realized that my uncle had the porno channels blocked cause of his children

Carl14125218d ago

Yeah, boobs and sex don't really bother us too much. It's like "hey some titties" *giggle*. Instead of the US way which is "OH SOME BOOBS, SOMEONE CALL 911 AND HAVE THIS PERSON ARRESTED AND HAVE THEM THROWN IN JAIL FOR 90 BILLION YEARS!"

peeps5218d ago

"GTA has 18 here i EU but not this. This game looks way more mature and brutal a la silence of the lambs than any game I know of"

i think it's about what u can do etc. i mean HR has a mature storyline but i dont think it would be any worse than a murder mystery that u can watch on tv.

GTA on the other hand lets u go off killing civillians and so on. if anything GTA is mature content done in an immature way :p i mean when u play gta u don't take it 100% serious and u just have a laugh (at least thats how i beleive most ppl look at the game)

Hellsvacancy5218d ago

"mature content done in an immature way" VERY good way of puttin it

Elven65218d ago

North America has always been iffy on sex in games and Europe has always been iffy about violence in games, nothing new.

sikbeta5218d ago

Honestly, I Envy you my European friends

Heavy Rain: The Emerge of a New Genre

Shane Kim5218d ago (Edited 5218d ago )

That's exactly what I mean...GTA is immature so why the 18 rating and not HR? I mean not that I give a damn but still.

sephy 9 2 55218d ago (Edited 5218d ago )

tolerance for nudity and mature themes has raised or something....I'm scratching my head on how it didn't get 18. Must not have hardcore violence or actual sex in it and just plain nudity like the shower scenes.

ZeroBlitz5218d ago

Watch Entourage season 1 episode 7 and be surprised as to what can pass for 15 these days.

peeps5218d ago

surely if it's rated this game must be pretty much done (cus obv if they added in more stuff would have to be looked at again by bbfc?)

anyway i'm actually playing Indigo Prophecy (or farenheit in america) for the first time and am amazed i never bothered with it before lol

i guess a few years back it wasn't really my thing but right now i'm loving it and so now really can't wait for heavy rain. + (without trying to spoil anything for any1 else who never played it) i preffered IP towards the start when it was more of a murder mystery and less 'supernatural' so i'm hoping heavy rain is much more based around reality cus if its anything like IP i imagine it will deliver an amazingly tense atmosphere.

seriously, b4 now i was looking frwd to HR but it wasn't 1 of my most anticipated games for the year. But after actually playing IP i really can't wait

Marojado5218d ago

I absolutely loved I.P. but completely agree that the ending was pretty moronic.

However, you're in luck, as David Cage is quoted as saying that Heavy Rain is a film noire-style thriller with mature themes, and that they will be shying away from the supernatural elements.

matta5218d ago (Edited 5218d ago )

I thought the UK was going to be using PEGI starting this year.

Please stop comparing video games to movies

"Many video games catch not only great commercial attention but remarkable critical attention as well. We have seen games like Heavy Rain, The Last of Us Part II, and even entries in the Metal Gear series described as fantastic interactive experiences, even heralded in the same way as Hollywood's greatest films.

I would suggest that not only is this an unfair comparison but also a harmful one. Video games, by their very nature, are an intricately different medium and should be weighed against one another rather than another form of media," Phillip writes for GF365.

Yes, please stop. They're better than most hollywood drivel nowadays.

BLAKHOODe1251d ago

I think Hollywood films will becoming increasingly more like video games in the future, especially as the world embraces the "new normal" from the pandemic. It makes sense, as games like Spider-Man: Miles Morales showcase just how realistically we're reaching in graphical capabilities, as well as showcase extreme action sequences in spectacular ways. And as time goes by, it'll get easier and cheaper to produce such "art", as well as create new star "actors" that never age, never die, never complain, never gets involved in scandals, etc. Technology is amazing and we're only just getting a taste of what it'll eventually be.

sourOG1251d ago

No. Some games are like movies.

medman1250d ago (Edited 1250d ago )

No. For the money spent, a quality game provides far more entertainment value than a quality movie. Especially when looking at what is going on in the world, and how a studio can attempt to pilfer from consumers by charging 30 dollars for Mulan via streaming. Ridiculous. There is no comparison....games all day.

Have you played Detroit? While it’s my personal favorite, I fully understand many preferring Heavy Rain more. I’m glad you enjoyed Heavy Rain too.

bouzebbal1408d ago

def. one of my top 3 best experiences on PS3

ClayRules20121408d ago

bouzebbal

That’s awesome to hear! What’re the other 2 best experiences?

akaFullMetal1408d ago

Great game, need to get started on Detroit soon.

ClayRules20121408d ago

Glad you enjoyed the game! Yes, Detroit is a masterpiece of a game, and their best work to date “in my opinion”

ClayRules20121408d ago

Wow, 10 years...and yet, still one of the best/most emotional/thrilling gaming experiences I’ve ever had.

So grateful to Sony for believing in Quantic Dream’s vision for this game, and giving them a chance. I’ll never forget David Cage saying “We want to challenge the player, but not with the controller, but mentally, with their decisions of “How far would you go to save someone you love” Well, they broke my emotional gamer heart lol.

My teenage son refuses to play this game, because I’ve told him in little detail the emotional impact it had on me all those years ago. Maybe one day he will.

Still have my origami crane they teach you how to make when you're installing for the first time.

it's been 10 years? wow, that was so fast, I feel like this console gen went fast as well although it hasn't. I really look forward to the PS5 this holiday season though.
