7 Licensed Games that Failed the World

Movie-tie ins are nothing new in the world of games and while many are considered 'okay', many fail to even touch on the incredible subject matter they're based on. CVG takes a look at the worst games ever to bear some of the biggest names known to Hollywood. And shames them...

When even a really bad movie-tie in rockets straight to the top of the charts on the back of a theatrical release, you know that movie tie-ins aren't going anywhere fast. Parents love to buy them for the kids, and even if you loved the movie to death you're still willing to give the game a go, even though it got universally slagged off in the press. Gamers know this because we've been stung many times in the past.

Back to the future games should have been on there. Those games had nothing to do with the movie.

Yeah I totally agree! I can't believe Spiderman 3 was on there, was the game that bad?

I think the worst and biggest disappointment was Matrix game.

Enter the Matrix sold millions of copies, yet I've never heard anyone actually say they liked it. Same with Jaws: I recently saw a copy of it at Wal-Mart with a "Greatest Hits" sticker on it...meaning that at least 400,000 people ponied up good money to buy it.

Enter the Matrix sold well enough to spawn an equally wretched sequel. How much you wanna bet we'll see another Jaws game?
