The Horror of 2009

Rely on Horror writes: "This last year was a big year for horror video games. A lot of blockbuster titles were released and it would only be fair that Rely on Horror get in on the 'best-of' action.

Running out of that Christmas cash and looking for a some frightful games to play? Not sure which title to pick up? Read on to find out if the game is worth your buck." (Batman: Arkham Asylum, Culture, Cursed Mountain, Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop, Dead Space Extraction, F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin, Killing Floor, Left 4 Dead 2, PS3, Resident Evil 5, Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, SAW, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, Wii, Xbox 360)

Difficult to pick a favourite this year. Usually i'd have gone with RE5, but not this time..

They forgot JUON (The Grudge) for the Wii..but Batman AA made it? LMAO

Honestly Fear 2 (which is no way even close to a scary as the original) was a really overlooked FPS. Although after Dead Space..every other 'horror' game ending pales in comparison.

What I do like about the article is that it alludes to the Matacritic failure. most sites don't even like the horror genre let alone know how to review them properly. So I love how the desciptions make you want to give some of the overlooked games a chance.

Let's keep it real though..not scary..but Left 4 Dead 2 FTW!!

*although the article reminded me to finally buy Cursed Mountain..the commercial with the player reactions was actually pretty effective*
