Sega released new screenshots of Valkyria Chronicles 2 for the PSP.
I would have loved this on the Ps3. Oh well.
Too bad it didnt sell enough on PS3 for SEGA to put it on the PS3. They should have just made it multiplat from the start rather than taking the risk of making it a PS3 exclusive. Now the sequel is a PSP game..what a waste..
If it didn't sell that good on the PS3, how in the world would it do better on the 360? (a console where only shooters sell well)
Making it multiplat = automatically more sales. By the on the PS3 only shooters sell too: Uncharted, GTA, Modern Warfare, Resistance, Killzone, MGS4 etc. All the other genres sell A LOT slower: Ratchet and Clank, LBP, Heavenly Sword, Infamous, Demons Souls, Valkyria Chronicles, Motorstorm etc. Looks like PS3 gamers only want shooters (sigh). By the way even Lost Odyssey sold more than Valkyria though the 360 hardly exists in Japan.
That is a lie. "By the on the PS3 only shooters sell too: Uncharted, GTA, Modern Warfare, Resistance, Killzone, MGS4 etc." >> that is also a lie. Unless you think FF13 and GT5 arent going to have super high sales. And Assassins Creed sold 8-9 million on both platforms and is not a shooter. The bottomline is that you just need to have games that appeal. Thats why I said in the other thread that Demons souls 2 needs to have lower difficulty in order to have higher appeal. But got rated down by braindead fanboys in an instant with over 8-9 disagrees just cause they cant handle the fact of an easier demons souls. The bottomline is that shooters sell more nowadays because shooters are the most popular genre NOWADAYS. That might easily change next year. Fighting games and RPGs were the most popular genres in PS1s days but gradually gave way to other genres. Genres come and go. I would not be surprised if RPGs are the most favorite genre again in say 3-4 years from now. Its a cycle. It goes up and down like everything else.
Well...thats actually what I meant. Saakings says only shooters sell on the 360: Assassins Creed, Ninja Gaiden, Dead or Alive, Devil May Cry, Mass Effect, Crackdown, Lost Odyssey, Halo Wars, Forza, Fable, Project Gotham Racing, Batman AA and much more ARE NOT shooters but have all sold pretty well. It was just to show that what he said was silly.
Oh I got what ur saying. Wow, way to be a fanboy Saaking.
@1.1 you do realize that VC was originally an Xbox exclusive right? That MS said wouldn't sell on their system so Sony picked it up and took it as an exclusive. http://www.n4g.com/News-131... 360 gamers don't buy this type of game and would have sold even worse if it was a 360 exclusive. And being a MP would have just brought the game down in its quality. This is still by far the best game I have played this generation of gaming.
Killzone didn't sell well and MGS4 is a stealth game, GTA is an open world action adventure, and Uncharted is an action adventure.
I agree with what you said but I think that Killzone sold as much as Sony would have expected otherwise they wouldn't make a platinum version of Killzone... that would go against the "only the best sellers go platinum" premise. At least that's what I think =P
People always think shooters are the only games that sell well wich just isn't true. If you look at the games that will sell the most next year, it will be Final Fantasy, Gran Turismo, and God Of War.
Edit: and LittleBigPlanet sold mo than Killzone 2 and resistence 2
And VC lifetime sales are over half a million wich isn't bad at all.
