Microsoft is holding its first multi-product sale on Games For Windows Live for its new Games on Demand service launched earlier this month. (Osmos, PC, Shadowrun , Viva Pinata, Where's Waldo? The Fantastic Journey, World of Goo)

Pathetic. Steam's deals are much better.

I agree. I just looked at Steam's holiday sale catalogue and they have a ton of juicy deals.

what the heck was that sad pathetic attempt at a holiday sale I just looked at.

I almost feel bad for GFW.

What's wrong with Shadowrun other than the price it launched at? Shadowrun is a great game but by no means a game that should have cost $60, the fact that FASA was closed down months after... :(

Poorin one out for FASA, also celebrating their last attempt. You should have seen the turnaround for that game, it looked like crap when it was first shown, like something running on the Halo: CE engine. Thanks to "FASA University" Gitleman was able to turn things around in 2 weeks with some pretty nice results. Too bad that kind of brilliance was over looked by Microsoft.

Anyway, the deals aren't bad but Steam has really set the bar. Still bought both Viva Pinata and Shadowrun though. This is pretty old news, this deal has been running for just over a week!

Edit: For those wondering, the Shadowrun online community is still pretty strong, on any occasion their are at least 12-15 servers running with most of them being full. A few people on the GFW forums are even talking about setting up dedicated servers for the game. Viva Pinata is great too, controls surprisingly well for a game that was built around the controller.

Games for Windows is the worst POS to hit the PC. Especially compared to Steam.

Id never support games for windows.

Knowing microsoft, once their service got popular they'd figure out ways to milk its base.

poor xbox users.

I think its good to have a new Service. It have started only a week ago or so. Steam started small too. Sure Steam is a way better actually, but maybe games for windows will get better too in the future. Its somewhat solid right now, and with more Games in the future.. maybe.

Think of Alan Wake. Maybe the PC Version will only be available on this Service.

I like the easy communcation with the xbox and Games on Demand. So that you can use the same Account easily.
