Xbox Evolved writes: "Take a sigh of relief Splinter Cell fans, split-screen support is now official. "
This is awesome news. Applause to Ubisoft becuase split-screen this gen is either terrible or just completely left out in a lot of games.
Split screen is stupid. All you need is a system link if other people want to play locally. Stop adding features that I don't need in this game. Give me mercs vs spies instead of these meaningless features.
Time to time I actually miss split screen, Dear ND could u please include that feature at "Uncharted 3: Among Awesomenes" That would be an amazing party Edit: Come on mike!! split screen is not stupid, its loads of fun if u want to play with some real friends, oh wait, now i got your point :/
Great news. I like splitscreen a lot more than online only co-op.
This is something a lot of Xbox 360 games have that I wish more PS3 games would have (Split Screen co-op).
finally split screen is back I missed you
split screen is outdated, it was replaced long ago by online gaming. i don't know why anyone would want split screen these days. It was great before we had online gaming but is just not needed anymore.
Wow Splinter Cell with co-op is great. I will buy when its out for the PS3.
Split-screen is not stupid or outdated and is still one of the best ways to play with a friend. Being able to play Halo 3 and Gears of War online with a friend on one console was a huge plus for me. One game I wished had split-screen, and it would have added to its longevity, is Pure. Burnout Paradise as well. I'm glad some developers still understand that gamers do still like to socialize and enjoy games with a friend or three ( . . . cheers to Halo 3) on the couch.
one of the biggest features that gets overlooked on blockbuster games is split screen. I love playing with friends online, but enjoy it just as much, if not more, offline. I just wish more devs would concentrate on making this a mandatory feature. I would much rather prefer it over 1080p graphics anyday.
I'm exactly in the same boat as you. Sure it's nice to have pretty graphics but when I found out Killzone 2 and Uncharted 2 didn't support split-screen I was definitely dissappointed. Is this the sacrifice we all have to make now for "awesome visuals"?
You freakin nailed it! That's exactly how I feel about some games this gen. Like everyone forgot about gaming with friends and family locally
I didn't realize there were blockbuster retail games not getting split screen because they were running at 1080p, nor did I realize the games with split-screen has had there resolutions lowered from 1080p because of split-screen. The only games I see at 1080p are a few retail games with simple gameplay or low quality textures or DDL-ed games. I'm not sure I understand because developers are not thinking "one or the other" with every game they make, assuming they wan't to do 1080p. Maybe you're saying split screen is more important than 1080p? If so you should know by now, not that many games support 1080p and most devs don't try to run games in that resolution.
You guys are rediculous. Stop living in the past. Split screen is dumb like wired controllers. Either find a way to let two players play on one screen.(like madden, tekken, streets of rage etc.) or not have it at all. This feature is not welcome in my book and is a waste of development time.
Thank you ubisoft for realising that there are still some of us that have real life physical friends that like gaming in the same room. Online is great but what about my friend sitting next to me?? Day 3 purchase for me!
This will be my first true entrance into the Splinter Cell series. I am very much looking forward to it.
Why did someone disagree with my comment when I said that I'm excited and this will be the first Splinter Cell game really going to play. How can someone disagree with that? Is fanboyism really that bad? Wow guys.
Just about everyone in here who expressed any excitement for this got a disagree. Just ignore it; the fanboys on this site can at times become really sad. I don't even know the point of the disagree and agree feature here.
you're not excited at all are you!? jks bro, everyone gets disagrees for no reason. I got a disagree in another topic for saying "2010 is gonna be one the best gaming years in my life" or something like that >_>
I really enjoyed the co-op in Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory so this news just makes me more excited for the game.
ahhh yes, Chaos Theory. One of THE best co-op experiences ever
I remember when I used to watch X-Play; they used to have some hilarious videos with the co-op feature, Bob and Steve: http://www.youtube.com/watc...
WOW I remember that! WOOOOOOOOOOW. Lol before X-Play sucked
Alright more great news from Conviction, looking forward to this game, I'm a huge fan of splinter cell series completed all parts :)
I just wish that PS3 had more exclusive games with split screem mode... On that matter the Xbox360 indead crushes to bones my PS3 :( I really hope that some day Sony start to focus on making more coop games with split screem and not just an online coop. MAYBE ModNations will have split screen ....
am i the only one here that doesnt like the mark and execute? it looks pretty lame, its like if the games playing itself. why actualy have a exiting part in a stealth game where u have to kill 3-4 guys when you can just press a button and it kills everyone for you. im gonna play the game as if the feature didnt exist. manual shooting on everyone. hope they aknowlege that and make an achievement for not marking anyone.
You only get 2 and you refill the gauge by getting stealth kills or takedowns. It about balances itself out and I think by adding it in the game it opens up more possibilities and movie like badassness.
but I don't have any friends:(
Games with co-op on one tv are a great way to make friends, and odds are these people will enjoy games as much as you do - you probably should buy a couple so you can invite people over to game it up. That usually beats taking turns.
i dont have friends anymore. i prefer online co-op. local co-op are good for everyone but not for me.
another surprise. But how many people still play in that fashion? I haven't done that since my college Golden eye/Halo days.
