Wal-Mart Stores Inc. this month began selling a bundle that includes Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox 360, Xbox Live subscription, and Activision Inc.'s Modern Warfare 2 for $249.
It would of been awesome if it were a elite cuz for the arcade would need a hardrive to get the full experience.
But that really is a fantastic deal.
With a year xbl gold that's a good deal.
Not necessarily. The new Arcade models come with 226 MB so you don't need a HDD. My friend just bought an arcade and had MW2, Skate 2, BF: Bad Company, and Halo 3 save files on it before I got around to giving him my old HDD (Original 20 GB).
That's a really good deal for those who don't have one already.
I've been wanting to get a 360 to put right aside my wii and ps3. This deal seems like one that will be hard to pass up. And its right on time for christmas!
I wonder if there's any Microsoft incentive for retailers to continue giving so many discounts for the 360, or if it's entirely retailer-based initiative?
You could pay $50 and get a Wii or pay $50 more and get a PS3. Either one of those consoles is better than a console that will break down on you in less than a month. Getting a 360 for Christmas is the equivalent of getting coal in your stocking.
A hard drive is needed to play one of the games it comes with. Without one, you can't play or download COD classic, which was the selling point of the hardened edition.
Maybe though, they want to have as many 360 sold, since people buy games for ythem like crazy, unlike PS3
One could argue that the reason it outsells the PS3 these days is because they keep giving deals which significantly reduce the price and increase the value. Without said deals, would it outsell the PS3?
@callahan09, So without the Blueray and at the same price, would PS3 sell more than x360?
