the PS3 holding its ground!

mint royale3050d ago

It did well outselling the 360 by 170,000 last week according to these estimations.

Wii however is doing spectacular. I must laugh at the doom and gloom articles that have popped up about Nintendo.

iron_sheik3050d ago

Vg's eu numbers for x360 are just 100% wrong
It is very rare to find an X360 sku anywhere besides UK

original Eu numbers could be

ps3 - 750k
x360 - 250k

eu sales charts are released on gaf every week. last week ps3 outsold x360 5:1 in italy, spain, germany and france. also in Spain stores are not stocking x360 anymore

Saaking3050d ago

It's VGchartz so expect PS3 to be outselling the 360 by a MUCH larger margin.

Nihilism3050d ago (Edited 3050d ago )

lol @ wii figures, go nintendo. But what do they know, according to fanboys their time has come :S, you heard 'em nintendo, it's time to pack it in.

I want to know when the console maker update their sales figures themselves, because nintendo must have sold 20 million console's this year yet all the charts still quote around 50-55 million mark that they were quoting at the start of the year

we won3050d ago (Edited 3050d ago )

So let me get this straight, VGC over tracked PS3 and under tracked the 360 last month and now VGC is over tracking the 360 and under tracking the PS3 now, because there is no way to prove VGC otherwise WW?

Guido3050d ago (Edited 3050d ago )

Well, that's to be expected since VGCharts reports units sold and not shipped...

/tongue in cheek

mint royale3050d ago

@iron sheik

You don't have talk alot of crap. Of course the ps3 is outselling the 360 in Europe but of course tehy are still stocking it.

I was actually in Spain 2 months ago and yes I saw many 360's in stores, albeit with a smaller shelf size than ps3 and a much smaller one than the wii.

I highly doubt you actually come from Europe either and just talk rubbish abou Euro sales charts. Please give me a link of where there are figures showing the ps3 outselling the 360 5-1 in those countires (and not during the week with the slim releasing because I fully expect the ps3 to have outsold the 360 by 5-1 then.)

Wonder when Sony will realize that the continuing decline on PSP sales isn't a good sign?

Ju3049d ago

Why would they worry ? Combined PS2 + PSP sales still exceed 360 sales. Two established platforms making profit for Sony.

"Sony’s PS3 is the only other format alongside Wii to show a year on year increase – sales up nearly 50% over last year. It is interesting to observe that PS3 and Xbox360 sales have effectively swapped places compared to last year, total “HD console” sales are fairly consistent, just that the ratio of 360 to PS3 has reversed"

Saaking3050d ago

It's VGchartz, so 360 numbers are probably inflated and PS3 numbers decreased.

rohail883050d ago

why should we cry if we're winning?

kingdavid3050d ago (Edited 3050d ago )

"We're winning"

You dont even work for the company and you're probably more excited then sony.

Who gives a crap how much each console sells. Its all about the games.

sikbeta3050d ago

The same can be said about teh xboyz and you can't deny that

xboy logic:

"-this game doesn't sell like teh haloez, so is BAD"

Unbelievable Delusional Fanboy Logic lol

Ps_alm3k3050d ago

then it is going to get competitive...why??
Because you have a w!! plus HD and a blu-ray/3d/dvd console.

Nihilism3050d ago (Edited 3050d ago )

You honestly think parents will buy ps3's for their kids just because of the sony wand??

when they go to the shop and the wii is cheaper + has a whole aisle of kids games, which one do you think they'll buy?

before everyone jumps on me, i'm not saying the wii is better value, but the eye wand will be marketed at the casual market, and they don't care about blu ray etc

masterg3050d ago

They will because of 3 things.

1. Daddy wants to play too.
2. Their kids talk about the PS3.
3. Both parent want to be able to see HD movies.

Nihilism3050d ago

If parents wanted a ps3, they would have one already, that's not to say they won't buy the wand, they probably will, but it won't sell consoles

RememberThe3573050d ago

"Plan on selling 4-5MM units WW."

Those aren't the kind of numbers that sell PS3's. People often forget that Sony is known for it more niche products.

Ju3049d ago

People buy Wii's for party games and Wii fits. No other console will deliver that. Not Wand, and not Natal. Both will be a failure. Combined with the "kiddy" image for the Wii, moms will continue to buy Wii's.

HD consoles need more kids friendly contents. And PSFit or something.

NA = World

Hmm, see how irrelevant NPD is when compared to the entire world?

dtrain213050d ago

Doesn't every country know that the world is North America !

Obama3050d ago

It's funny how the bots sometimes argue: "Why do you care about jp or Europe data??? You don't live there!!"

Nihilism3050d ago

they're probably all republican "we're american so we buy american products!"

sikbeta3050d ago

Don't why the disagrees, but guys enough with that

I can understand what are you saying but It seem like some comrades can't, so lets just leave this way

Nihilism3050d ago (Edited 3050d ago )
