IGN writes: "The original Crackdown helped to cement a buzzword in the realm of open-world action games. The opening of the building walls and rooftops to the player gave games like Crackdown "verticality." It wasn't just about the street level action anymore -- the sky was the limit. Sandbox games were quickly becoming magnitudes of order larger than their predecessors and with that came new levels of freedom. Climbing to a rooftop in Crackdown and scouring the surroundings for hidden collectible orbs was half of the fun, but something was missing."
