Resistance Global Servers/Maps delayed
SCEA has announced that the global server update and the Resistance multiplayer map pack has been delayed.
The link is not broken
Bare with it plz
....oh well, better late than never ;)
"Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later," is all I get.
Can anyone tell me why the delay has occured AGAIN!?
you have to check the forums and I couldn't access them for some reason. I'm heading to the PS3 resistance boards to find out more.
I've been waiting for this update even when it was first announced in March. Waited for the June 1, then June 7, and now?
Hoping its not more than a couple days delay this time, a week of waiting seems longer than ever.
Link not broken...site is just overloaded by users looking at same topic.
I got in and here's what it actually says:
This feels like déjà vu… A really bad case of déjà vu
Last week, I had the pleasure of unveiling our planned release date of June 7th for the Resistance: Fall of Man map packs and content update. That was on May 31st, the last day of May and the date we (SCEA and Insomniac) had promised when we unveiled this waive of DL content.
On that June 7th release date, I have some unfortunate news to share. During our final testing of the global server, which removes regional play restrictions for those who want some international flair in the multiplayer experience, a few last minute issues have come up. Despite some extremely long hours by all those involved, the unfortunate fact remains that we cannot resolve these issues prior to our announced launch date. And, at the risk of sounding like a broken record, neither SCEA nor Insomniac wants to release something to our ever-growing community which will impede the experience.
Hence the déjà vu feeling mentioned above.
The one bit of good news is these issues are NOT related to the content update or map packs themselves, and both have cleared format QA groups worldwide. In other words, everything is ready to go from the game side; we just have some kinks to iron out to complete the integration of our global community. Rather than announce a new date at this time, I want to see these issues resolved first to prevent any more cases of déjà vu on this topic.
What I can promise are two things: first, this last delay won’t be too long. Second, once it is out and you have a chance to play the new maps or your buddies from across the world, you’ll be happy we took the time to get this right.
Right, back to work.

Please no one report this
the leave it open-ended. Great.
Why can't they give us the maps at least? I mean OK ... no global servers but, the guys said the maps have the OK. So why not put them up. That's all I was really looking forward too. It would be nice to have more people online late at night though.
what the F^CK man!!
This is not helping Sony's at all!!!
i guess its more difficult to have global servers instead of hosting the game on one's console. I hope they iron out the works and get it running smoothly. It would be a lot worse if they had released it and had problems with a million people trying to play globally and hearing all the complaints.
Well Mr. obvious you're right, it doesn't help SNE at all, but putting out some half - a$$ed maps wouldn't help either. It doesn't sit well with me by any stretch of the imagination, but it's not like I don't enjoy playing the game now the way it is.
I say get the DLC right, seamless and debugged to near flawless levels and that WILL make me happy; it shouldn't be much longer imo. Now hurry the he77 up Insomniac and get this done ~ I mean you guys are "insomniacs", right?
madden i was looking forward to playing you n gamr but a party pooper just had to send bad news... dam am so angry
wow...these map packs took a long time, 7 month's??? i was done playing this game month's ago. not sure if i will start playing again just for new maps, looking forward to playingR6V online though,
i officially hate delays
At least vegas is coming out soon.
Personally, I haven't touched RFOM in over 2 weeks. I guess I would probably pick it back up for some new content, but I feel that the game has run its course. Sure, the multiplayer is fast, and the PSN servers do a great job of keeping lag to a minimum, but ever since Forza 2 came out, my 360 is getting a lot of playing time.
I wouldn't say that the game has run it's course exactly, because it is a long course. Yeah the MP is great and I love the campaign, but have you already finished the game on hard and also on Co-op hard? It's pretty damn fun. And one thing that is always a party favorite (here in my house) with my buddies is the four player split screen action. We can burn some good KB and play that $hit all night long ~ literally, it's addictive as he77, but I digress. The new maps will freshen it up a bit and I can't wait to get in on the virgin action.
Now as far as Forza II goes I really can't blame you there either. I'd be playing that too. I mean if Yamauchi had new courses out with the alleged November rumble controllers / FW update already out [for my wheel] -- I probably wouldn't see the light of day for a week, let alone if the whole GT5 was out, so I understand. Racing takes precedent over all in this house; well except for football. =]
The maps are finished. Reading > some people.
You making us look bad, here deliver the maps already, I know the service is free but you don't have to be worst, what's so hard about delivering some maps you nonskulls....Lets show the 360 boys we can have premium service for free. I am tired of these stupid server down errors
Great more waiting...they are lucky Iam a Insomniac. Iam done yelling at my computer screen now.
Humm Iam supprized there isnt some sorry ass comments from the other side.
The link is slow...that's BECAUSE EVERYBODY'S TRYING TO FIGURE WHAT THE HELL'S GOING ON by going to the same website!!
Sony fans are always waiting on things....
Just throwing a little humor out there, don't bust me bubbles plz no I dont know what I'll do.
better waiting for a map pack than replacing the console all the time (ala xbox360).
There see I thought a few would show up. That was funny achira..eye for an eye, as they say. It looks like everyone gets to wait for things lol.
@ Achira: Dude the only reason 360's fail is because some owners love them too much and play great games all through the night and into the morning, and forgot to put their 360 in a well-ventilated space.
Better playing games on a great console than watching protein fold.
<<Launch 360-- No probs. Ever. I baby my 360 because I know its touchy.
but i know that these maps will kick arss when they get relesed, so its all good
wtf sony is seriously letting me down...
im not gonna up and get an xbox cuz of this, but jesus sony... have something come out on time. back to playing pokemon lol
