Halo Legends Character Pays Homage to Metroid's Samus Aran

Split-Screen: "The first Halo Legends episode, titled 'The Babysitter', is a pretty decently animated set piece for the entire series. Interestingly, while it features a cameo by Dutch from Halo 3: ODST, it also contains a very clever homage to Samus Aran's ultimate reveal in the first Metroid game for the NES." (Culture, Halo Legends, Metroid, Wii, Xbox 360)

Kudos. At least Bungie have more respect than Turn 10.

Eh. It's an interesting thing, but will go unnoticed unless one stops to think about it. It's a shame Cal-141 (the female Spartan) had to die though. :(

Homage, or coincidence?
It wouldn't make sense if a Spartan wasn't in Heavy armor, so your argument is that they are both blond girls? I think its a reference to Roll

eh
didn't the original samus have like green hair or something, and there are a bunch of female spartans, like linda for example.
