7 Games That Need HD Remakes

Koku Gamer writes: "With the first Serious Sam game now hitting the virtual shelves in a graphically-updated 'HD' version, we got thinking about what other games would benefit from a re-release with all the latest visual trickery.

First of all, an honourable mention for Half-Life. It would have been on the list if it weren't for the impressive Black Mesa mod doing exactly what we're talking about here. Way to take the wind out of our sails, guys."

Uhh, Perfect Dark IS getting an HD remake that should be released this year.

Ziriux3303d ago

Holly aids, is that true? Do you have a link with some proof?

mal_tez923303d ago

Who wouldn't want them in HD?

El_Colombiano3303d ago

Ocarina of Time. The world would implode.

Saaking3303d ago

I can't wait for Perfect Dark remake. It'll be the first XBLA title I purchase.

Odion3303d ago

Saaking your getting a bubble from me since every comment I've read from you in the last week as been great. Keep up the change of attitude.

Metal Gear Solid has already been remade as The Twin Snakes on Game Cube (and Digital Graphic Novel on PSP if you want to get technical about the story elements).

There's really no need for an MGS remake, not another one.

And this is from a HUGE fan of the series.

I like that link a little more

I'm not a fan of games being remade. How about Sonic 1 2 and 3 in preparation for Sonic 4.

mal_tez923303d ago

They weren't exactly HD now where they?

Noctis Aftermath3303d ago (Edited 3303d ago )

Fail list is fail.

Final fantasy 7 remake is easily one of the most wanted game remakes ever, just look at how long ff7 has been in the psn top 10, i don't think it has dropped out of the top 10 since its release.

TheBlackSmoke3303d ago (Edited 3303d ago )

I think some of you are getting a little confused between a remake like the twin snakes and an uprezzed port of an old game.

Perfect Dark is not a remake its just uprezzed like gow collection.

"Perfect Dark is not a remake its just uprezzed like gow collection."

With the amount of time they're taking to bring this one out it SHOULD be a remake.

execution173302d ago

they did a remake of OoT but it wasn't in HD and you needed pre-order a zelda game wind walker i think it was

Horny3302d ago

it wasnt a remake it was the same exact game only on a gamecube disk with other zelda games.

I think it could use a HD revision but I can still play OOT time just fine, the graphics held up well. I mean it looks blocky and all but the good thing about N64 games is they dont look all pixelated.
I have replayed OOT every year since it released in 98, I love that game. I have it on every Nintendo system starting with the N64.

Bioshock was an amazing HD remake. Can't wait for the sequel.

Ziriux3303d ago

Yea, Bioshock remake was something amazing and new to gaming, I'm not sure how the sequel will top the first one. The addition of multiplayer should be something new and I hope it's done well to keep me coming back to the game after I beat the SP.

Myst3303d ago

It's been a while since I saw the game name of system shock, half of me would like to see an HD remake; but sometimes I really don't like to see them this one in particular I'm on the fence.

rambler3303d ago

Modern Warfare 2.

BadboyCivic3603303d ago

Supraman213303d ago

BLACKKKKKKK!!!! That game looked amazing for its time. I can only imagine what it would look like in 720p at 60fps.
