HD DVD/Blu-ray Survey by IPSOS

In a national online survey among households either owning or intending to buy a High Definition TV, we asked respondents about their purchase interest in High Definition movie systems. To qualify, respondents had to have an active role in the decision making process when purchasing new electronics products for the household.

The story is too old to be commented.

I'm and HD-DVD supporter for the most part, but this survey was just crap. Small sample size and they worded the question like this:

“Which statement best describes how likely you would be to buy an HD DVD player,”

Basically you're going to get a lot of people who don't know what HD-DVD is vs Blu-Ray and just respond based on the way the question was asked.

This survery also takes place right after (during?) the World Cup which had Toshiba as a lead advertiser.

The company started with a larde sample, educated them on the equipment, then thinned them down to people who already owned hidef equipment or were preparing to buy hidef equipment. This company has the reputation of being the repeat the most accurate market survey in the world because of the methods they use.
