2009 GameStooge Award Nominees Announced

Developer Rocksteady's thrilling adaptation of the Dark Knight, Batman: Arkham Asylum, leads all nominated games with an astounding 12 nominations, far out-pacing the second most nominated game, the surprising Popcap Games hit Plants Vs. Zombies, with seven nominations. They are followed by six nominations apiece for Assassin's Creed II, the highest grossing game in history Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Dragon Age: Origins and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. Other notable game nominations include four each for the expansion Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City (with The Ballad of Gay Tony alone receiving three of the nominations), Bungie's sequel Halo 3: ODST, Left 4 Dead 2, and Telltale Games' adventure series Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures.

This year, the nominations for the Best Game of the Year are:
