Best PC Game: Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box
Best Nintendo Wii Game: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Reflex

BurnoutParadise5270d ago

Best PC Game - BURNTOUT PARADISE!!! (THE ULTIMATE BOX)

Since it's run by votes, Modern Warfare 2 will take the win

Battlefield5270d ago

Uncharted 2 all the way, modern warfare 2 was no way near my expectations.

pumal5270d ago

Killzone 2 all the way, the bots can cry me a river ahahaha there's like no good 360 games this year.

X_iGame_X5270d ago

Heh they included Killzone 2. Can't believe VGA forgot KZ2. It's will win 4 surez?

Valay5270d ago

Pretty much agree with you.

Chubear5270d ago (Edited 5270d ago )

Hands down: Killzone motherloving 2. I've never experienced a FPS like that, ever.

@1.3
Yeah, they "forgot" KZ2. >.>

Darkstorn5270d ago

Agreed, except for Best PC Game; I put Dragon Age.
It's going to be a big debate over who wins best graphics: Killzone 2 or Uncharted 2. Personally, I think Killzone 2 has the upper hand when it comes down to which game simply looks more realistic, but UC2 is undoubtedly close.

Erotic Sheep5270d ago

What exactly makes you feel that KZ2 is the best FPS you've played? Don't get me wrong, that game is gorgeous and is a solid action packed FPS title, but it doesn't come close to the likes of Half-Life or Bioshock.

I'm just wondering why some people feel KZ2 is the best FPS ever created ^^

raztad5270d ago (Edited 5270d ago )

Why N4G doesnt run its own Game of The Year? This is a gamer site after all.

@sheep

It depends on what kind of FPS you enjoy the most. I liked HL2 and its Episodes, it got some clever puzzles and awesome tools like the gravity gun but the combat is weak and boring, even when you are on a vehicle.

KZ2 gunfight is on another level. Just sublime. Incredible exciting and challenging when played on hard/Elite.

To me KZ2 is the Demons Souls of FPSes.

swiftshot935270d ago (Edited 5270d ago )

I agree with 1.8. KZ2 was thrilling, gorgeous, and has awesome multiplayer. But best FPS ever? No, not even of this generation. Bioshock is blatantly superior, and IMO so is CoD4. MW2 also stands toe to toe with the game.

Darkstorn5270d ago

Bioshock was amazing, but Killzone was almost as good. Actually the only thing giving Bioshock the upper hand was its brilliant story and atmosphere. Hating on Ayn Rand never was so much fun... :p

raztad5270d ago

@Dark

Thats true Bioshock is an amazing game. Bioshock is almost a genre in itself. So innovative when it came out, those perfectly integrated RPG elements and that atmosphere, oh my god the atmosphere.

I would like to see some sort of RPG elements/weapons upgradeability in KZ3. After Bioshock and Borderlands rpg elements is a must on FPSes.

FACTUAL evidence5270d ago

Soo hard to chose from uc2 and KZ2 WTH!!!! Someone call the doctor!

ThanatosDMC5270d ago

Best multiplat game is Assassin's Creed 2! Yes, it's that good. Go get it! I've been playing it for 2-3 days straight... you know, minus the bathroom breaks, food, sleep, etc.

pixelsword5270d ago

Uh, sir, you're trying to disagree with his opinion; his opinion can't be wrong or right because it's entirely up to him.

:)

ReservoirDog3165270d ago (Edited 5270d ago )

This list is missing inFamous. Besides Uncharted 2, it's my favorite game this year. Was really surprised how good it was.

Assassin's Creed 2. I'm sure it's good but I doubt it's as good as inFamous. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure.

Poor Sucker Punch. So underappreciated (as you can see from my avatar, I love Sucker Punch).

edit: Also I think Super Mario Bros. Wii be far better than CoD Reflex.

kraze075270d ago

Two words: Hell No. Dragon Age deserves the title as best PC game of the year.

sikbeta5270d ago

That's not a good idea

Multiple accounts fanboys voting ODST everywhere, even in the best wii game category lol

I hope Sony devs go to the VGAs with killzone 2 t-shirts & do thier kanye west impression when valve gets on stage.

Chubear5270d ago

HA! That would be gold! Xd but we know GG have a certain type of class to them. They'll take a subtle digg at them with stuff they're working on instead.

Reno175270d ago

Thanks for making me laugh. Good comment!

AKNAA5270d ago

Sony: yo Valve, I'm really happy for you and I'ma let you finish..
but GG had one of the best FPS of all time!!!... One of the best FPS games of all time!! **Gabe is shocked as F@#Ked**

The_Devil_Hunter5270d ago

Honestly I dont know why L4D2 is there...

Madusha5270d ago (Edited 5270d ago )

Yeah it's a bit repetitive but still a good game.

@Chubear: YourEMGN (Your Electronics, Movies and Gaming Network) nominees, not Spike TV.

Chubear5270d ago (Edited 5270d ago )

Come on, you know why. It's Spike tv? ... MS's butt buddy?

bigrudowsky5270d ago

I dont know why its their either but valve always does a great job with their games so its a worthy candidate.

bigrudowsky5270d ago

Killzone2 best graphics hands down. uncharted2 was nice but didnt really impress me visually in comparison to killzone 2.
Game of the year however goes to Uncharted 2 one of the best games ive played this gen not the best but its up there

Myzer5270d ago

GOTY: Uncharted 2
PS3: Uncharted 2
360: Forza 3

EKWB reportedly plagued with financial disarray many gaming pc's left without parts

EK Cooling allegedly has slipped itself into a hot soup of seemingly endless financial woes, where it has not paid its staff, suppliers, and contractors for many months as the company is facing liquidity problems and a surplus of inventory left unsold, stuck in the warehouse for a more extended period. Gamers Nexus investigated these claims made by former and current personnel, where he found trails of unpaid bills lasting as long as three to four months and unpaid raises that accumulated for almost a year.

EK Water Blocks has two entities—a Slovenian-based headquarters and a US-based subsidiary, EK Cooling Solutions. Steve narrated the series of events in detail, stating that the company was reportedly irresponsible and negligent regarding payment. Consequently, partners and employees are forced to share the burden of alleged mismanagement. It all begins with its extensive range of products, leading to a surplus of goods. EK has over 230 water blocks, 40 liquid cooling kits, 85 reservoirs, 40 pumps, 73 radiators, and 212 miscellaneous accessories.

Yes this is not about video games directly but indirectly this will impact the pc gaming/workstation space hard.

This company is massive one of two in the water cool space so if it goes poof then thousands out there have no spare parts or half built computers.

SO yeah i know not about a video game but think of it as amd leaving the pc space but this is ekwb that could be leaving water cooling in the pc space

Jayz2cents a supporter of there products also has issues

As someone that has built a watercooling rig. EK is big, but there's so many numerous watercooling part companies out there. EK's stuff isn't exactly amazing quality for the price compared to others either, it's just ok. Much like Corsair. The impact would be negligible long term. For perspective the majority of my parts are XSPC, at most I use EK for my gpu waterblocks and fittings. Both easily replaceable.
