IGN UK: New Super Mario Bros. Wii Review

New Super Mario Bros. on DS was undoubtedly fun but it was tough to ignore the concessions Nintendo made in the name of accessibility. There's not of that here though and this Wii iteration delivers riotous entertainment in spades. As a solo experience, it's up there with Mario's illustrious platform predecessors; with four players in tow, it's breathtaking in its constantly hilarious chaos. Yes, its reliance on familiar 20-year-old tropes means Super Mario Bros. Wii never feels as fresh as Mario's innovations did first time around but that doesn't stop it from reaching ludicrous levels of fun. And surely that's exactly what you want from a Mario game.
