Over at Killzone.com, game director Mathijs de Jonge talks about his role at Guerrilla Games and the Killzone franchise.
am I missing something here? EDIT: - Ok got it going. *sigh* I am so anxious and excited for this game release (but) without anything tangible to sink my teeth into so far, I just gotta sit back and hold my breath. Hopefeully, I can loosen up a little after E3. =] Thanks Rybnik
that madden raiders took that puss filled chunky mug off as his avatar? I dont know what was worse ... him thinking it was cool to scare the sh*t out of people by showing off that mug, or that he tried to pull off 'cool' by having on the sunglasses? I'm guessing the Big Texas avatar is indicative of his waistline. As for this game, its going to be average at best ... just like the original. remember to click 'agree' :p
be hanging out at the mall? Damn kids are ruining this site. hey it's real brave to talk about people online. dweeb. AnYway Killzone 2 is going to rock on the PS3. This game will be a benchmark game for the PS3 and I predict it to be a solid AAA title.
watch out maddens, i think holy is trying to flirt with ya...
I cannot wait for this game. KILLZONE 2, God of War 3, and Gran Turismo 5 are why I bought my PS3. Is KILLZONE 2 really coming out this year?

Over at Killzone.com, game director Mathijs de Jonge talks about his role at Guerrilla Games and the Killzone franchise. Please tell us a little bit about your role at Guerrilla Games. I’m Game Director at Guerrilla. What a Game Director does in the games industry is somewhat comparable to what a movie director does. As a Game Director, you’re responsible for the vision and quality of the game you’re developing. What tasks are receiving your current focus? At this moment I’m very busy working on Killzone 2 for the PLAYSTATION®3. How deeply involved were you with Killzone: Liberation? Very! I really enjoyed developing this game and everyone on the team is quite proud of what we achieved. It’s satisfying to read in reviews or forums that people recognize the dedication and care we put into Killzone: Liberation. theres nothing new in this but atleast we know they are working on killzone 2 not 3
It appears to be working now... http://killzone.com/killzon...
I suggest that everyone uses the latest version of flash while accessing it. :)
Its old and 2nd its more about psp liberation that ps3.
i need alot of good shooters to play.
its a same they do one of these every month/week, and i keep thinking it'll have new info on killzone 2, but its more about liberation... *sigh*
NEW: Mathijs de Jonge Interview Twice a month, we interview a Guerrilla employee about the Killzone franchise, working at Guerrilla, and game development in general. This week, we managed to tear Game Director Mathijs de Jonge away from his extremely busy schedule to answer our questions. Take it away, Mathijs! Please tell us a little bit about your role at Guerrilla Games. I'm Game Director at Guerrilla. What a Game Director does in the games industry is somewhat comparable to what a movie director does. As a Game Director, you're responsible for the vision and quality of the game you're developing. What tasks are receiving your current focus? At this moment I'm very busy working on Killzone 2 for the PLAYSTATION®3. How deeply involved were you with Killzone: Liberation? Very! I really enjoyed developing this game and everyone on the team is quite proud of what we achieved. It's satisfying to read in reviews or forums that people recognize the dedication and care we put into Killzone: Liberation. How do you feel about the way that Killzone: Liberation was received by the public and press? It started off really well at E3 2006 when we received a number awards like 'best offline multiplayer game' and the press reviews have been very positive ever since. Still, I feel that a lot of people have overlooked this game, either because they haven't heard of it or perhaps because they don't like the franchise. I'm hoping that this will change once we release the Online patch and Chapter 5! Which aspect of Killzone: Liberation do you feel most surpassed your expectations? The core gameplay experience. When we were doing some early tests with the 3rd person overhead camera we didn't know exactly how it would turn out and how it would affect gameplay. So we didn't know exactly what we were going to get gameplay wise. Another important fact is that we didn't look at other games for ideas but played our own prototypes to get inspiration for new mechanics. The end result, in my opinion, is that we've created a truly unique experience in this genre, and I'm very pleased with that. Which Killzone Universe character is your favourite, and do you think we’ll be seeing more of them in the future? Rico and Evelyn are my favorite characters, and I'm pretty sure they will be back! Finish the following sentence: "General Metrac's favorite hobby is..." ...writing books about the art of war and dusting his huge collection of war trophies.
It wasn't the Halo killer Sony claimed but it wasn't bad ether because it's still in my library. IMO I think Killzone was a little underated, it was one of only a few FPS on the PS2 that was worth a damn. FPS is and will always be my first choice in gaming but I love actions games to and the PS2 has a sh!t load of those. If it wasn't for the feeling of being betrayed by Sony this gen i would play Killzone 2. IMO i don't think Killzone 2 will be a Halo killer but still be a nice game. LOL with all my post you guys probably think I hate Sony, I never said anything like that I just hate the PS3 and love my 360 more thats all (I LOVE LIVE)
Sony never claimed it was a Halo killer, the media did. Sony just advertised the HELL out of it and it sold 4 million copies. Would've been bigger if it was better.
Dude who do you think paid for the Killzone Media? Killzone is a Sony title "Sony Computer Entertainment" http://ps2.ign.com/objects/... http://www.ugo.com/channels... http://www.gamespot.com/ps2... http://www.sffworld.com/gre... Where the hell were you when the ads were being played on TV about Killzone being a Halo killer? Jeez bro need to look before you leap, I know I have had my foot in my mouth before.
I don't think killzone2 needs to be a halo killer...i think it should try to be the best FPS shooter for the playstation brand as to HALO3 is for the XBOX 360...guerilla should just worry about delivering the best game that it kept secret since the trailer in 05....HALO is a beast and an already established franchise for the XBOX...Killzone would be one too for ps3 if it delivers....it doesn't need to go head-to-head with Halo because they're from different consoles anyways...right now in imo, haze looks like it wants to compete against killzone for the crown...
Sony didn't pay anyone to call it Halo killer. Get back to reality buddy.
Warhawk might be the halo killer. It's the better beta
The only people who ever call it a Halo Killer are over excited Sonyfanboys and lazy/antagonizing games journalist. The first game was a good solid shooter, and underated because of people dismissing it because its not a halo killer. Part 2 isn't going to be a Halo killer either but I think its fair to say with all the effort/time/money they're putting into it it going to be agreat game and maybe even better in some ways then that other shooter. It doesn't mean it will kill it.
but you can say sony is doing the right thing by making a sequel.some people bag on killzone for ps2 because it had problems.but the game went on to sell over 4.5 million copies.wouldn't you as a company make a sequel?i would.check it out: http://ps2.gamezone.com/new... see that?these seven titles sold over 4.5 million.and what do we see close to the bottom?hmmmm...none other than killzone for ps2. i think the game deserves a second chance to show it's stuff. can't wait for E3. for those that can't click on the official link at gamezone: ""FOSTER CITY, Calif., Aug. 25, 2005 Demonstrating the massive appeal of the PlayStation(R)2 computer entertainment system and its software library, Sony Computer Entertainment America today announced seven additions to its PlayStation(R)2 "Greatest Hits" software portfolio: ATV Offroad Fury(R)3, Hot Shots Golf(R): FORE!, Jak 3(TM), Killzone(TM), Rachet & Clank(R): Up Your Arsenal, Sly 2: Band of Thieves(TM), and Syphon Filter(R): The Omega Strain. These seven titles have accounted for sales in excess of 4.5 million units and join an expansive library of 123 "Greatest Hits" titles that have proven to be favorites among PlayStation 2 users. Recently, Killzone has been added to the PlayStation 2's Greatest Hits library and has dropped in price to $19.95
