2 Million And Closing: Wii Puts the 360's Lead in Jeopardy

i got my wii at launch.
my misses loves it.
i love my 360.
i love/like my ps3.

pswii360 ftw !

Short_E6174d ago

its a shame really, nintendo are doing well but i feel sorry for all the people that bought the wii at launch, because there would have bean alot of people buying it thinking it was next gen and not really knowing its nothing more then a xbox1
the sales are great but i feel for the people who will get shafted in a year or two when the wii is collecting dust because nobody wants to support it, even now its getting ps2 ports, updated gamecube games and just bad ports of true next gen games
the poor wii doesnt even get a section to itself in game stores here, its just shoved on the end of an istle or pushed out of the game section all together in most stores in NZ

i dont like bad games
i dont like dust
i dont like wii

ITR6174d ago

NZ lost then.
Aussie just doubled their profits in Nintendo land.

I would have to agree with you. I have owned the wii little over a month now and the novelty has worn off and its collecting dust. Even if the Wii surpasses 360 sales I dont think it will remain there at the end of the lifecycle. I can't see them playing off the gimmik for 5 years. Nintendo is also in the same shoes as sony at the moment, they have few good games and the rest are crappy ports. But the main difference is that sony has some good games comming in the future, what does nintendo have comming mario galaxy? and what else?? Unless you like last gen tech or are a kid that is easily ammused please stay away from the wii and buy a 360 or ps3.

"has some good games comming in the future, what does nintendo have comming mario galaxy? and what else??"

Off the top of my head, these are the Wii games I'm following at the moment.

-Super Mario Galaxy
-SSBB
-Metroid Prime 3
-Madden '08, fully online w/ wiimote actions (which were awesome 90% of the time in '07, and should be perfected in '08)
-FFCC:TCB
-MySims
-Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles
-Project H.A.M.M.E.R.
-Fire Emblem
-Sadness
-Disaster: Day of Crisis

EDIT: Oh! I forgot Mario and Sonic go to the Olympics!
EDIT2: And Battalion Wars 2

yes.

LOWER THE F**KING PRICE!!!

FirstknighT6174d ago (Edited 6173d ago )

Funny picture!!! I personally dont put the Wii in the same category of next gen. The Xbox360 and ps3 are the only ones that should carry that title. The Wii console is definitely last gen power but I guess you can make an argument that it has next gen gameplay. Although motion controllers have been around before the wii but never fully utilized like the wii.

FadeToBlack6173d ago (Edited 6173d ago )

Montion sensing does NOT make it next gen, trust me. Motion sensing has been around for years. I also have to note that the motion sense in the wii mote is far from accurate all the time, and at times is frustrating with games such as wii sports that require some precision.

eclipsegryph6173d ago

FadeToBlack:

You're right, the motion sensing doesn't make the Wii Nintendo's CURRENT-Gen console. (I think it's about time the whole "next-gen" schtick was put to rest.)

But the fact that the Wii is Nintendo's entry into the, generally considered, Seventh Generation of home video game consoles, that certainly validates it as last year's next-gen, this year's current-gen console.

It's not that hard of a concept to grasp.

FadeToBlack6172d ago

It shouldent be that hard of a concept to grasp that no matter how you dislike the tern "nextgen" thats the term used, so live with it. And the Nintendo wii is definaztly no nextgen tech revolution with its magical motion sensing wand and worse than xbox 1 visuals. People can deny it and disagree with me all they want, but its simply the truth. By the way where is their great library of games to utilize their controller. Look at the new mario party 8 for example, couldent even score a 6 out of 10. The reviewer stating that that game seemed like a rushed gamecube port.

BitbyDeath6174d ago

No offense to Wii owners but i see the Wii as more of a handheld device that you can't carry around than a nextgen console.... Just my opinion tho

So ignore it if you want

6 Fun Games Where You Actually Play As The Bad Guy

While the mainstream media always sees things turning in favor of the hero, here are 6 games that own being a bad guy.

Profchaos1h ago

Pretty much all of these games listed are based around a morality system you don't have to be bad and you don't have to be good.

It seems to have left out some real amazing games like red dead redemption 1/2,ass effect and true crime la/ny

Tacoboto1h ago

Armored Core VI?

Ok, I'm really missing something here. Just beat chapter 3 earlier this evening, unlocked A-rank Arena fights. I'm not seeing or sensing any branching paths or morality system and I've done every side mission and arena fight available to me up to that fight.

Is something big coming soon to branch the story?

No mention of Grand Theft Auto? Saints Row (original trilogy), Manhunt? Also The Suffering (depending on the ending you get).

I never got around to mass effect - I’m skeptical that it would hold up if I were to try it now

Furesis17h ago

El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron - Coming Back for a New Generation

Originally launched in 2011, El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron is coming to Nintendo Switch, so It's time to look back at the original.

Still have my ps3 copies. Bought it at launch and another one when I found it cheap and in perfect condition about 10 years ago. I wouldn’t buy it on Switch but if they made a PS5 version I would. I still have one of my PS3 Fats hooked up so good to go either way.

darthv721d 12h ago

Id play it again on the switch. I wished my 360 version was bc but this is still a good way to play.
