PS3-Sense posted up some clear screenshots of the terrorist airpoirt mission in Modern Warfare 2. Check it out at your own risk, this footage might be shocking for some of you.
attachments!!!! silenced snipers and shotguns apprently and also how many attachments you can have on a gun etc show us somebody!!!
I really like the style of this game, seems like they are really trying to achieve that real world realism story set pieces and the game looks amazing.
It's scary to think that this could really happen if terrorist ever gained access to regenerating health and auto ammo pickups.
1.1: Realism? How many people do you know that have regenerating health, or terror attacks where everyone makes it out alive when even trained SWAT units are sent to take them down? A better and more "realistic" experience would be if civilians actually got in your way when playing the game in a town, city, etc. And I thought Infinity Ward said they were going to get rid of "scripting", the dude reloaded the same point and the guard comes out of the same place to melee him. Hillary Goldstein had a good point on Gamescoop Podcast, someone from IW probably leaked it, wouldn't the ending or more parts of the game be online by now?
Is it necessary to have this as a level? No. Is it a fantastic piece of story telling? Yes. Like they say, theres no better way to express the atrocities of terrorism, than by par taking in the senario. I give IW and Activision a pat on the back for having the balls to actually tell this side of the story. They've done what even some Film studios wont allow. But i get the feeling this level will question your morals, but its still just a game AND IS ALL FANTASY.
this stuff looks tame by comparsion.
Was this captured from a standard resolution TV or something? The graphics look like it's running Rainbox Six from 5 years ago or something.
omg so many dead polygons on the floor ohhh the humanity
If I didnt know any better, I would have said those screenshots were from L4D.
yea you say that but this $hit really does effect kids! these games most kids to gonna say its only polygons! YOU REALLY DON'T KNOW HOW KIDS MINDS WORK!
The last time I checked, this game is rated "M" for Mature. You have to be 17 years and older to play. It is clearly represented in the ESRB rating that there is violence and gore in this game. Don't blame the game, blame the parents that are letting their kids play these games. Are kids under 17 going to be able to play this game? Of course they are. Think of it this way: Infinity Ward is sending you the information (the game), YOU are making the choice whether or not to receive it. It's not like they're forcing you to play it.
I don't see gore
I think the guy in the last pic has his nose shot off. :P
Tactical Nukes at 25 kills Sniper Fi Map hmmm
People lying dead on the floor in a pool of blood doesn't count as gore when they're not even bleeding themselves. XD
Usually, there's way more people at airports than that.
lets post comparison shots with bomb blasts of baghdad and pakistan's peshawar.
I'd much rather post a comparison between the two bubbles you have now and the one you're soon going to be left with.
Oh.....SNAP!!! You just verbally skeeted in Sak's face.
Gore my A$$!
I'd rather not, if you don't mind! :)
That's a lot of ketchup.
Why did these guys take screenshots with a walmart camera in front of a tv?
why is it so jagged? and its off screens so it makes it look better than it really is.
im just asking cuz I have the ps3 version on preorder
It looks like the 360 version because the Achievement unlocked thing showed up in the middle of the video.
Achievement unlocked? yeah that might be the 360 version...
If u watch the video u will see the 360 buttons come up to reload the gun. It doesn't look that good overall though.
Left 4 Dead has more gore than that, and you don't even have to shoot anything.
Disturbing and controversial? Yes. Gory! No. There is hardly any gore in those shots. Mostly bloodsplatter and other decals but no body / model damage.
...shooting unarmed civilians constitute a good game? This really is a new low for the FPS genre. Sorry, but I can see why this has upset so many people and quite frankly IW claiming its in the game so you can get the full two-sided story is bs. You can tell the same story without having to play it. However, looking past that and just looking at the graphics. Wow, cloning is abundant again with the same dozen character models and generic movements. Little to no damage caused by a wall of gun fire. Yep, its a COD game but the new low of shooting unarmed civilians for the sake of story telling is repugnant. How is this any different to having you fly a plane into the WTC in a game? Oh, I guess because the terrorism is not happening on American soil so its ok. Oh yes, at 5.26 minutes into the game the player gets an achievement award for unnecessary roughness....terrible, simply terrible.
dude grow a pair really you ppl are pvssys i don't see any difference between this and shooting and running over ppl in GTA really if something like this offends you or sickens you than GTFO of gaming sell your PS3 or 360 or PC and buy a Wii or DS because those 2 are made for kids and pvssys like you
...its about what is right and wrong. Just because its digital entertainment does not mean its ok. Hell, why not make a game about the shootings at columbine or sniping innocent people on the streets of the US. Just because its not personal to you does it make it ok? I have no problem with violent video games, hell, I'm looking forward to God of War III just like a lot of PS3 owners but I think MW2 is crossing the line on this one. Games don't need that type of violence to be fun and entertaining else Uncharted 2, Metal Gear Solid 4, COD4, etc would have failed. As for your comment about growing a pair, only knuckle bleeding, banjo playing trailer trash would make such a suggestion.
@close second I agree in some parts but don't you think you should play the game first and see the context of the situation before judging it? Im not saying that you're wrong just putting things into perspective.
Dude, leave his sister out of this!
you calling me a hillbilly ? seriously your just an uptight prick that needs to be a man because there's no difference between shooting civilians here than shooting civilians in GTA and i just might rent this piece of crap game for that scene and as for you again grow up or leave gaming because video games will keep going out the line like this if you don't have the stomach for it than you shouldn't be playing games. @ yippiechicken . let him insult my sister i don't care about her i would slit her trout and not care about her
zombieman why dont you say that to people who have been affected by terrorism, hmm? that crap isnt so trivial. based on your comments you have no problems with devaluing human life... so its no wonder you have no problems with this.
no i haven't been affected by terrorism but even if you have it's no excuse to be repulsed by the terrorist scene in the game as it's not real and because your all hypocrites really you ppl have no problem playing something like GTA were you are free to kill steal and run ppl over with cars for your sick amusement yet you feel something like shooting civilians in an airport to much really your all hypocrites i'm just being honest and showing all of your true faces for ppl like you have little regard in human life as well with all the games you play MGS , GOW , GTA , COD , Halo , Killzone , Gears etc in all of those games you live out your sickest killing fantasies IW is just pleasing your killing fantasies so just enjoy the ride
could be a video game in itswelf. how long does it take to clear outa airport
I don't see gore anywhere. Or maybe I've just been playing too much of the L4D2 demo. For me, gore classifies as gibs.
This is why it is rated mature. If you can't handle it then don't buy it.
as if every zombie game suddenly does not exist.
It's a game yes. But if you play this and laugh while playing this level, you then are a sad person.
I want to see if they're brave enough to put a trophy in for the level.
that looks so good, look at the guys face at the beginning when they are on the elevator, just amazing... (and it really has this feeling of being real) -like how they move when walking.. done really well. This game is going to be Awesome, They have really increased the levels to just huge open space... Looks amazing another thing is the sound.. just wow, it's really done well, feels so real... man this Game is going to really set the bar high for other game companies.. Can't wait for this game.. should be a lot of fun. Going to get it on my PS3, but might also get the 360 version because I have so many friends that I know who will be on 360 -thank god this is one game you will not have to worry about how it will look on pS3. Infinity Ward has always done an amazing job in keeping the game exactly the same on both systems.. Like COD4 which I have for both systems and it is the same... -so that's going to be really cool. Can't wait .____........___...____ .____||......||.......____|| ||.........___||.......____||
No it's the Xbox 360 version. Now I'm thinking of buying COD Modern Warfare 2. Just love to play it NOW.
better than a movie
Haha thanks for the laugh!
Where's the gore???
I have bought every COD game ever made, up to this point, and I wont be buying this one. Besides the fact that the community is completely over run with kids (which should concern everyone here considering the subject of this conversation), this little bit of "story telling" proves that IF is going for shock and controversy to sell their game now, which basically puts them in the same league as developers like Running With Scissors. They are supposed to be a AAA developer, but they end up looking like classless punks. Just because you can do something, doesnt mean you should. There is absolutely no part of this "story" that they couldnt have told through a graphic cut scene instead of having you play it. They have compltely lost my respect, and the respect of many more to come. When this really gets out to the non-gaming public, it will be pulled off store shelves quicker than the Hot Coffee mod got GTA pulled. There are certain thing you just dont do. THis goes way beyond running over civilians in GTA, or a sex scene in Mass Effect. The kids that think its no different, well, yeah, thats because you are kids, and shouldnt even be buying the game anyway.
set a limit on what's morally acceptable in games. Especially now, as video games start to become a more mainstream form of expression. And in regards to this particular scene, I don't think it pushes any "moral boundary" that hasn't already been crossed by another medium. For example in the film "flight 93" it shows terrorists boarding a plane headed for the white house. Now you might argue that there is a distinction between a film and a game in which you can control the actions of the character. But fundamentally they both are visual experiences that any sane adult person should be able to distinguish as a work of fiction, and not be influenced by the actions on screen. Anyway as a gamer I might pick this up or Assassins Creed II depending on their performance on the PS3.
whats the diff with this and GTA?
GTA is light hearted - not to be taken seriously. COD has always been a very serious, dramatic and intense style of game. Its the contexts of how theyre presented.
That's not gore...that's just blood. If you want real gore...play Call of Duty: World at War. That game is brutal. Seeing your character get blown in half by a bouncing betty is really damned disturbing and shocking. Never seems to lose its effect either. I flinched pretty badly the first time I saw my character blasted into the air, his leg blown off...brought back intense memories of that opening scene of Saving Private Ryan. I actually think that Treyarch one-upped Infinity Ward by adding full-on gore to the engine.
LOL at a bunch clones in airport dead, come on seeing the same characters in multiple areas makes this wack
HOPE INFINITY WARD DIDN'T WATCH THE 2ND BAD BOYS AND TRANSFORMERS FILMS. What I'm getting at is this: Michael Bay did great with his 1st installments of these films, BUT he goes off with unnecessary racism, violence, sex, and language on the sequals. IMO, all he had to do was add water and stir, as these sequels did not need over the top violence and language. However, he added in irrelevant stuff anyway..and these two films sucked! (IMO....although these still made millions of dollars.) Modern Warfare 2 only needs to do what Bungie did for Halo fans. "ADD WATER AND STIR" BABY!! Keep it the same, with only a little extra on the ingredients, so you can milk the franchise! (I really liked World at War...mainly , because it was VERY simular to COD4.) I didn't like Halo: ODST that much, BUT the Halo games worked because Bungie didn't go over board on non-important stuff. We know that violence is in the Middle East, but MW2 is just a game, and Infinity Ward seems to forget this! I saw these guys, NONE of them been in combat, and are not Tom Clancy! Asking REAL soligers about weponds is cool, but dead and blood saturated bodies? (Why not have sucide bombers drive throuhgh Bagdad...with kids and women dead in the streets.) Flashbacks, pain, racism, and hate for our Middle Eastern Americans, is not needed. (A MISTAKE CAPCOM SALES SUFFERED FROM THE AFRICAN ANGLE OF RE-5. I STILL HAVE NO INTRUSTED IN PLAYING THAT GAME.) I know the RE story, buy why not make up a stuff....Which is why parents didn't even complain that much about Halo. (Bungie is smarter than what people give them credit for.) I understand that video games, movies, Tv shows, and music is ENTERTAINMENT ONLY, and can't wait for the next Call of Duty game. Just hope that Infinity Ward cuts a little out next time. A lot of people on here tends to forget that a lot of these rated M games are bought by parents. No kids should be playing rated M games, but I feel that Halo for 14+ year olds is ok....not RE5, COD, GOW, ect.
I want this. I'll gladly gun down crowds of innocent people..........in a video game.
