Infatuated Gamer: Buying Assassin's Creed II from Amazon is already a great deal due to the $4 discount in addition to the $10 credit promotion. The deal gets even better when you enter the following code during checkout...
It's only a few bucks who cares, beside not everyone shops at amazon.
I used the code, got $10 off regular price, chose free shipping (takes a few days longer, but who cares with the number of games coming out?) and paid less than $51 for the game. No tax, so you end up saving $15, plus $10 off my next game purchase! Sweet deal!
That is a good deal! People seem to forget you don't pay tax on most purchases online. Plus next time you preorder, they may have a similar $5 off deal so you can use your credit and save another $15!
I don't use Amazon do to the high delivery charges. I am talking about Amazon.co.uk though. Why don't Americans include tax in the price when buying items. I always hated that when I was in the US having the exact amount that is on display and forgetting that there is also tax at the checkout.
Online purchases don't have tax, except when I ordered a game through Barnes and Noble (I had a gift card, the only reason to shop there). In Minnesota, where I live, we don't even tax clothing. I think because different areas have different tax rates. For instance, the tax rate in Mpls is like 7.2% or something, but in the suburbs it's only 6%. Plus tax rates vary from state to state so manufacturers would have to relabel everything for specific markets.
Thanks for that bubbles. Seens to be a pain in the neck to me. Lucky I live in a small country so all the prices are intergrated into one.
