This week's charts, with data taken from May 24th, 2007, feature Mario Strikers Charged Football debuting to brisk sales in Europe, while Forza Motorsport 2 spurs interest in the Xbox 360 in Japan.
"Forza Motorsport 2 outnumber weekly sales for all currently available Xbox 360 titles in the United States, and the game remains a hot preorder item in Europe as well."
i was also really really surprised that Forza 2 is doing so well in Japan. That may be 360's only saving Grace in Japan is its solid racers
Why was this junk posted in the PS3 section as well?
because you tool it has sales numbers for all the systems, i just took the first paragraph as the description
well its good to see something attracts japans interests like Forza 2. But what is gonna follow up and continue to provide interest? another race? or another RPG that is specific to Japan? Maybe they will revise the marketing Campaign. and make it more appealing to the market instead of GO! GO! GO!
Forza is king next will be... rallisport challenge
Forza's king of the racers...like Sega's king of the consoles...
and thats why you only have 1 bubble like the rest of you stupid fanboys.
They told me it would be wednesday, in the US
What's all this talk of it dominating Japan/being popular there? It sold 5000 when it launched, and in Japan day one sales make up a HUGE percentage of weekly sales (well over 50%). It will chart between 11-30 and then drop off into oblivion like every other 360 game in Japan. No doubt it'll do something good in the USA, but I expect a 1 month charting like many 360 games, pretty much all not including Gears. This isn't that level of a killer app. And almost all 360 games have front loaded sales. It's a good thing Microsoft has games of this level coming out almost every month. Also, if you disagree with this, well, you're wrong. These are facts.
who said anything about forza 'dominiating' in Japan? Show me where sold 5000 at launch. And i Guarantee when weekly sales numbers for the actual Forza2 release date (not the broken release dates so many shops in Japan have been doing) come out it will be higher than the 5000 number you arbitrarily pulled out of a hate..woops i meant hat. I'll leave ps3 software numbers out of this discussion. I don't think there is anything wrong with having sales that are "front-loaded" or have a short-tail, as long as they still have a constant stream of quality games coming out. Besides, much like the wii, the lifespan of game sales for these new consoles are relatively short (ps3 excluded because opf the low attach rate). And contrary to what you think gears of war is still selling very well in NA and in many other places. Sure it's selling 2m, 1m or half a mil anymore, but it's still doing quite well. In the case of the majority of games on the 360, there's nothing wrong with shipping 500k+ for the majority of games.
Sorry but its not accurate what so ever... Might have all these flashy features but comes no where close to the accuracy of GT series... Also even GT4 had 700+ cars xbox has what? 300?.... Yea a bit behind.. Xbox fanboys will buy it though, just like every other junk title...
Check out Forza 1's score at gamerankings.com (it's the combined score of alot of reviews from the biggest gaming sites). It got a very high score from almost everyone. It was the first game in the series and it was a success. Now Forza 2 is here and it's selling well in Japan it seems like...they like driving just like europeans and americans. It will probably sell well in EU and in North America as well...so there you go. What is 700 cars when you've got loads of the same type of car just different year, and they all behave the same anyway? Bad AI, no damage, no online etc...
