Gaming Union: Valhalla Knights: Eldar Saga Review

GamingUnion.net writes, "Valhalla Knights is an RPG series that originally made its debut on the PlayStation Portable. Developed by the relatively unknown developer, K2, the series has done well enough for itself to warrant two series sequels, the latest being Valhalla Knights: Eldar Saga for the Nintendo Wii. Set in the world of Eldar, players set out on a quest to reunite the land, its different races, and bring an end to the wave of monsters tormenting Eldar."

Unfortunately, this seems like another piece of shovelware.

Kyll2970d ago

I dunno, shovelware can at least be fun in how much it sucks

Myst2970d ago

Wouldn't really say shovelware just a game that took a wrong turn :/

HardcoreGamer2970d ago

LIKE REALLY REALLY BADLY MADE WORSE PRODUCTION VALUE AND NOT EVEN FUN BUT A CHEAP TRICK TO THINKINGS ITS AWESOME JUS BY LOOKING AT THE CASE

ShawnCollier2970d ago

Wasn't this basically a somewhat improved port of the PSP titles?

Kyll2970d ago

beats me, I heard they all suck xD

mephman2970d ago

That's not really saying much....

Myst2970d ago

Nope not really, personally as a fan of the PSP versions this felt like a slight downgrade to me. It's fun sometimes, but 'meh' most of the times. I still have it though it's just being overshadowed for the moment :/

Kyll2970d ago

What did the PSP versions have that made them better than this version?

Myst2970d ago

For one the attacking animations feel vastly different from it's PSP counterparts. Not only that, but the battle system changed as well. Which I thought I would welcome, but, in the PSP version it does those screen changing ones and you usually had a party of 6 including yourself, which was fun. In this it's only you and one other person ( either co-op or the A.I.) in which the A.I does do horrible job most of the time in this.

I don't know it seems like after playing both versions it can be understood as to why it gets this score.

Graphics haven't noticed much improvement either.

CANT BELEIVE ITS GETTIN SEQUELS MUST BE DOING WELL TO GET SEQUELS AND WII VERSION ALSO

Kyll2970d ago

yeah, kinda makes you wonder how many copies a low-budget game like this needs to sell to turn a profit, since only profitable games get sequels.

kesvalk2969d ago

i think i am the only guy that really liked the game...

okay not everything, the game don't have any color, it's only shades of brown...

but i liked the gameplay, the leveling system and the dungeons

The game is just too deep.

Playing it on the surface would have me agree with this and many other reviews that say the same stuff. But after a while the depth and content really makes itself clear.

Needless to say I won't be selling my copy to Game Stop any time soon.

I'm just wondering what Phantasy Star Online would get from reviewers if it came out in the same way no HD or anything today.

I just wonder.
