Nintendo Life: Crash-Course Domo Review

Nintendo Life writes: "When you have mini-games like the Domo releases that are so simple in design and execution, it's difficult to review them as separate entities. Crash-Course Domo is basically a bicycle racing game that's extremely basic and easy to pick up, but features very little depth as a stand-alone title. That's not to say that it's a bad game, it's just not much of a game at all. But even at a paltry 200 Nintendo Points, is this little more than a glorified mini-game really worth your time and money?"

Kotaku: Domo Games Micro-Review

The ratio of quality to filler on DSiWare may still be superior to that of iTunes, but the Domo games hurt the credibility Nintendo was gaining as a curator of an online games store that emphasized quality and value.

Domo Games in DSiWare Review Collection at CheatCC

CheatCC says, "Nintendo, being as Japanese as it gets, had no problem in giving the green light for a group of small Domo-themed games to appear on DSiWare. Now we can all take Domo with us and make our wait at the dentist office a more pleasurable experience. Or will we end up greeting the doctor with a sour face and sweaty hands? I guess that all depends on which game(s) you get, and that's why I wanted to give you a heads up and let you know which of these Domo games are the most enjoyable."

IGN: Crash-Course Domo Review

Crash-Course Domo isn't terrible, though it certainly isn't great. Players race in a Tour de France style bicycle race up and down hills. It's extremely basic: the D-pad controls which lane you're in, and the A button is accelerate. The game is cute and fun in the way that mini-games tend to be, but after a half dozen races it starts to get stale. Also, the name is misleading because as it turns out, crashing into opponents disqualifies you. Good thing the developer didn't make an FPS game, "Stand in the Open Where Enemies Can Clearly See You Domo".
