Game Informer: Demon's Souls Review

"Demon's Souls has received a lot of hype for being monstrously difficult, and while it's clearly not the kind of game you can pass in a weekend, its finer points shouldn't be lost in all the fear. This game is tough, but also rewarding, interesting, evocative, and, in its own special way, brilliant. Add in extensive new game-plus options and the strangely compelling multiplayer, and Demon's Souls is one of the first truly great Japanese RPGs of this generation, and certainly the most remarkable."

The sleeper hit of 2009.

Not any of the major publications or media outlets.

Personally, it's a 10. Haven't sunk that much time into a video game since I had an NES. It's a deeply engrossing experience.

My personal game of the year. I bought Brutal Legend and U2 around the same time as importing Demon's Souls and nothing can pull me away from it...except work...

Demon's Souls is beyond addictive. I am enjoying this game more than I've enjoyed a game in a long time. I have games still in their cellophane, victims of Demon's Souls awesomeness, and that stack is going to continue to grow over the next month or so. Major props to From and Sony for delivering this masterpiece.

May be my first true RPG that I have purchased myself. No regrets. Personally I give it a 10 but realistically it is a 9.5 due to some frame rate issues (during dragon god) and the dead body physics are a little shotty. But that is small change for this monsterous epic game. I'm not even half way through and I think I've enjoyed it more than Killzone 2 which is the reason I bought a PS3 the first year the PS3 came out.
