An interview with the senior producer working on splinter Cell: Conviction for the xbox360.
I'm proud of Ubisoft on this one. The could have easily done what they did with GRAW2, or what Infinity Ward does with the COD series, and just create some new levels, tweak the graphics, and send the next installment out to the masses where it would surely sell well based on reputation alone.
But, they decided that the CONTENT and the gameplay actually mattered, and they challenged themselves by pushing the boundaries, and implementing a whole new way of thinking about the stealth genre. No more just lurking in the shadows, this game sounds like it has loads of potential.
Is this also a PC game?
EDIT: thanx USMChardcharger, I've just read the article and have seen it for myself. I was just stupid to post a comment before reading the story.
yes, look at the second to last question in the article.
no details yet on the PC version...looks like they are concentrating on the 360.
if you didn't read the article do...good read.
edit: uberwleiss...don't worry about it bro...sometimes i don't have time to read an article and ask a question for those that might have. i was just looking out for you.
i will say it again...Boune Identity, lol...this will be fun, so much potential...talk about keeping a franchise fresh!
you will notice that it took one whole core just to run the physics on the 360.
i like what i learned from this statement in article:
"How far do you think you’re going to take advantage of the Xbox 360 hardware?
MF- Being the second game of the franchise operating on the Xbox 360, our technical experience and knowledge improves everyday and this makes a difference in the results. Also, since Conviction is exclusive to X360, there is no need to think about specifications of other consoles and to develop common solutions. This freedom allows more flexibility and it surely shows more of what the Xbox 360 can really perform."
good to go
edit: nice to see for the first time that Montreal studio is handling both the single player and the multiplayer
gamestop/eb taking reserves. it will be mine.
what is up Grown? i hear ya on that buddy.
side note 1 hour after 1st post: wow, when there is nothing to bash one of the consoles about, there are not many post are there?
one other thing i forgot to mention that has a ton of opportunities to get real interesting...THE Black Market...this will be how sam gets weapons and info.
think of all the possibilities.
man, this game wasn't even on my radar yet. i was really waiting to see what the game was going to offer later on...i mean i knew it would be good.
i was blind sided by all this info and new direction they are going with SC...did i say i can't wait yet?
I'm going to buy all the SC's when this releases and play them all in order.
chaos theory, it's hard to go back to the others. i love the series, it's my favorite, but chaos theory set the bar.
This is the game that I would want to see on my PS3.
I envy you 360 owners
Yeah, me too, I love SC games. But it's coming out for PC as well. So I have an idea, buy an Xbox360like controller for your PC and hook it up to your HDTV, so there you have it!
I'd love to buy an X360 but I work and live in a f***ed up country where you can only buy an Xbox in a US military base (PS3 is everywhere though) and there is no Microsoft official dealers so you can't have any warranty and service. And we all know how reliable those consoles are :(
Have you seen the new HD trailer of this game? If not, pick up my tips in the tips area. Or at least vote for it to get approved.
The first three games were great, but they were getting old fast, Double Agent was aminly an expirement to set the stage for Conviction.
I think this game is gonna surprise us all.
