IGN: Mario & Sonic at Winter Olympics Review

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games isn't a bad choice on Wii – it's just way too generic for more players to get into. You've seen many of these events before, oftentimes within stronger packages, first-party Nintendo offerings, or in full-fledged standalone games. Snowboarding isn't going to trump Wii Fit Plus – or even have a chance against SSX Blur or Shawn White – and anyone that hopped on board with the original Wii Fit has already gone through the motions with balance board support and ski jumping or slalom racing; both of which handle controls better on Fit than in this package. Tie that together with a generally uninspired control scheme across most events – shake, shake, and more shake – and you've got a game that doesn't live up to the previous Olympics offering or break any real ground on Wii.
