The E3 That Wasn't: Why gamers are better off without it

Today would have been the final day of the E3 2007 expo. But Gaming Target takes a look at some of the major announcements that have happened in the last few weeks through quarterly financial reports, single company "Gamer Days", downloadable demos and good old-fashioned press releases to show that the game industry still has a bright future.

They also suggest that while May is slightly less exciting without E3, the gaming community is better off without all the hype and empty promises. (Nintendo DS, PC, PS2, PS3, PSP, Wii, Xbox 360)

Good Article-3
I still would've rather gone to E3 because I do miss the extravagance of the expo and parties, but I'll admit, I've gotten more play time with Halo 3 in beta than I would've gotten at Microsoft's booth with an appointment. Can't beat spending all day (and night) with a demo.

I can see...
these events going completely online. Talking specifically to the console systems, the respective companies (MS and Sony) could have their own "expo" through their online services that could last a certain number of days. And so many more people could be apart of it. It would probably crash alot. I was thinking about this HOME Sony has coming, which i think is pretty useless, but this kind of event could be interesting if done on that service. Make a whole new digital event.
