Kaz: Sony's pressure to release GT5 difficult to bear

GZ: Polyphony Digital desperately feels the pressure from Sony to release Gran Turismo 5.

Gran Turismo 5 has been in development for five years now, and although Polyphony Digital has released GT:HD, GT5 Prologue and GT PSP in that time, it's still been a hell of a wait for what many expect to be the definitive racing game of this generation.

We had expected the game to release at the end of 2009, since all the signs were pointing to that release period. However, at the Tokyo Games Show, Sony announced that the game would be getting a March 2010 release in Japan, and a slightly later release in the US and Europe.

In an interview the studio's head Kazunori Yamauchi reveals that the pressure from Sony to release the game has at times been unbearable. (Gran Turismo 5, PS3)
