In-depth Review: The King of Fighters XII - Electronic Theatre

Some would say that The King of Fighters XII is hoping to ride to the Beat-'Em-Up bandwagon; the revived appreciation for the genre brought about by Street Fighter IV earlier this year. However within just a handful of fights, most will recognise this simply isn't the case. It's true that The King of Fighters XII has numerous similarities in its combat system, most notably the appearance of a Cross-Up point of impact as originally seen in Street Fighter II, but The King of Fighters XII isn't a game about reminiscing, it's about progressing the 2D one-on-one Beat-'Em-Up formula. (King of Fighters, King of Fighters XII, PS3, PS3 King Of Fighters XII, The King of Fighters XII, Xbox 360) 71/100
