The NPD released the hard- and software sales from April yesterday and today we have the German hardware sales from April 2007. Just like in America, Canada and Japan the Nintendo Wii is outselling both the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 in April.
Hardware sales April 2007:
1. Nintendo Wii - 20,000
2. Playstation 3 -16,000
3. Xbox 360 - 9,500
We also have the total hardware sales from all three next-gen systems since launch. The Xbox 360 is still leading, but with a year headstart on the Nintendo Wii, which is gaining fast. The Playstation 3 is also doing well with over 70,000 systems in 2 months. Though the Xbox 360 isn't selling well because AAA games like Gears of War, Dead Rising, Saints Row, Crackdown & C&3 have been banned in Germany because they are to violant.
Total hardware sales:
1. Xbox 360 - 262,000 (Since December 2005)
2. Nintendo Wii - 222,000 (Since December 2006)
3. Playstation 3 - 70,500 (Since March 2007)
CGM Writes: While we were over at PAX East, we were able to sit down with Goichi Suda (Suda51) and talk about the upcoming remaster of Shadows of the Damned
Ibrahim from eXputer: "The Medal of Honor franchise was once the crown jewel of FPS war games, later defeated by the tides of time and poor development."
They tried to turn it into Call of Duty and it killed it off. They should reboot it and go back to it's roots. But they'd ruin it with online-only/multiplayer style bullshit so why bother? I have very fond memories of these games, but this series can stay dead as far as I'm concerned.
Was literally just thinking of this game the other week with the secret nut cracker mission and the shooting Bismarck dog lmao. Loved these games as a kid
I have fond memories of playing the Medal of Honor Breakthrough MP Demo. It had two maps and custom servers. Living on campus, I had it downloaded on one of the PC Lab servers so I could access it on any computer at the university. Joined a clan and made friends that I still keep in touch with today.
INDIE Live Expo, Japan’s premiere online digital showcase series , will debut never-before-seen games & content updates across more than 100 titles on May 25th.
shame to say

not really to good is it...
did the original Xbox and PS2 do well in Germany?
Plus, only Germany isn't that interesting. The whole of Europe is more though.
Having roughly 6k more in sales compared to NA 360 outselling the PS3 by 100k every month, now that makes the difference.
So I am really curious about the latest Europe overal sales if they can make up to the NA 360 extra sales. Now gimme the popcorn!
the good games are all banned... gears of war, dead rising, ghost recon.... all banned because of the rating system. there just aren't that many good reasons to own a 360 in germany (except the price)
and their RATING system? They miss out a lot.
and i'm PROUD to be one of the 70,500 since march.
comparison:
360: 262,000 in 1 1/2 years
ps3: 70,500 in 2 months
guess who's going to win here ...
