Retailer Best Buy has entered an agreement with the non-profit Common Sense Media, which will provide online shoppers with content ratings to help parents avoid buying inappropriate content for kids on BestBuy.com.
Common Sense Media will provide BestBuy.com with content descriptions, reviews and user comments for games for sale online.
Best Buy plans to extend the partnership beyond games into movies in the future. Currently, BestBuy.com provides shoppers with the Entertainment Software Board Rating for video games and their corresponding content descriptors.
Common Sense Media offers three game ratings when it comes to appropriateness for children: "On" (appropriate for age), "Pause" ("Know your kid") and "Off" (Not age appropriate).
