Richard Chamberlain writes: Uncharted 2's multiplayer was one of the big surprises of this year, and it's just as good as we could have imagined.
Few PlayStation 3 games have made as big an impact as Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. It has, for many, become the must-own PS3 exclusive and in fact, I myself, know several gamers who purchased Sony's black box just to play it.
Now, two years on, Nate, our rugged all-action hero from the first title, is back. While Uncharted 2: Among Thieves' story mode is sure to be packed full of twists and surprises, the addition of a multiplayer element is every bit as exciting.
Those who simply cannot wait until release day can sample the online portion of the game thanks to a public demo that'll be released any day now. Because Naughty Dog is nice like that.
Or maybe it's because they realise that the online play is so good that even the smallest piece of game time will leave fans wetting themselves in excitement for the full title to finally hit store shelves next month.
After playing the latest beta version of Uncharted 2's multiplayer offerings, I would suggest that the latter is more likely to be the case.
