I don't Understand why Sony wouldn't capitalize on the holiday season and release it in December. Instead they choose to release it the same month as GOD of war 3??? They have to give there exclusives space to breath especially when there both so huge.

sunnygrg3136d ago (Edited 3136d ago )

It will blow every other racer out to the sh!twack next year. Hopefully we get a simultaneous worldwide release. :]

aceitman3136d ago

i cant imagine what it will look like when its done so there still working on the damage so lay off the insults to gt5

I did not murder him3136d ago (Edited 3136d ago )

LOL sure buddy.

Forza never has a chance against GT oh wait the reviews say otherwise.

Disagree? don't make post the Meta scores comparing each game to their respective generations or windows.

And remember I'm replying to his rabid comment not the other way around.

Not surprised

lokiroo4203136d ago (Edited 3136d ago )

rhood0223136d ago

How would you compare them?

Forza has 2 games.

GT has 10 games (Including PSP)

v1c1ous3136d ago

2 great car racing games will be available?

nbsmatambo3136d ago (Edited 3136d ago )

This means a lot lol

damage models get finished up and polished up

more cars are reveald and polished up

more tracks are reveald and polished up

basically everything gets polished up!!

gonna go save $120 just for splurging on GOW3 and GT5 in March

btw, unchartd 2 will still b GOTY

UnSelf3136d ago

dont try to censor me, i didnt say anything out of order. here it is again:

I fkin dare another racing game try to come out in 2010

beardpapa3136d ago

The jump from Forza 1 -> 2, then Forza 2 to 3. Obviously with big improvements between each game the reviews would be better. Anyway, perhaps it's a good business decision to release GT in March. GoW doesn't have that big of a fanbase compared to GT.... and besides, Sony has the holidays locked down with FF 13 anyways. GT & FF13 all in Xmas 2009 would be overkill. It would be bad for them if sales dwindled down after the holidays going into 2010. They're thinking of the long term.

BrokenAnarchy3136d ago

Ofcourse, it didn't have anything to do with it being 65% complete..

fishd3136d ago

Early 2010 is STOCKED!

Information Minister3136d ago (Edited 3136d ago )

Well, a part of me is sad because I'll have to keep waiting for GT5. But another part is happy because I now have more time to spend on Uncharted 2 and Modern Warfare 2. But then again... GoW 3 and Bioshock 2 are hitting in early 2010...

Mental Note: Ask boss for a raise and more vacation time.

Simon_Brezhnev3136d ago

got a strong feeling it maybe got pushed back because of Final Fantasy XIII

Aclay3136d ago

"Looks like Sony was afraid of the competition...
Not surprised "

Gran Turismo 5 hardly any has any competition to begin with, and the PS3's 2009 Exclusive game lineup is already packed... there's 3 PS3 exclusives coming Next Month, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 later this month, there's the God of War Collection in November, and that doesn't even include the PSP's New games.

Gran Turismo 5 in December would have been great, but it would have been a little crowded... and honestly, Sony did Forza a BIG a favor by not releasing it this year, but March 2010 isn't far off, and I'll gladly take it then.

Weak_Sauce3136d ago

well that sucks.

i wonder if this'll make a positive impact on forza 3/xbox 360 sales from race fans who won't be able to wait another 5 months for GT5

DERKADER3136d ago

We might have to wait as long as Summer 2010.

JL3136d ago

I'm not entirely sure I agree or understand this decision. Well...I understand if that whole 65% done is true, like some people are saying here, but I haven't read that anywhere (granted I haven't read all the news today yet as I just got on here today). Then again PD said the game could be released at any time a while back, so not sure why they'd say that if they were only 65% done with the game. Anyways, if that's true, then I fully agree, wait and finish the game before releasing...definitely.

On that note, I REALLY would've liked to have this game this year. I was fairly optimistic about a December release. So it's a lil disappointing in the sense that I'm ready for this game and really want it (but that's just me being greedy, if they need time to polish it up then so be it). Now, I forgot all about FF XIII, so that being brought up does in fact make some sense to try to keep the two apart. Though if starts to make less sense when you figure the FF release is just we're looking at what? 2 million FF sales? That versus what would probably be something like 1.5-2million GT5 sales. So they don't want to pit those two big sellers against each other in their home country? Ok, that's fine. Til you realize what they do decide to pit GT5 against (or rather what they decide to force to go up against GT5): GOW III. Granted GOW isn't as big a seller as GT or FF (and from what I understand, GOW's Japanese sales are virtually non-existent) but it is a decent seller worldwide (I think the first one being one of the Top 25 best selling PS2 games of all time and the second still making it into the Top 50. And GOW III seems to be working to make a more mainstream push (in the sense that it seems like it's going to be more known with this title in the franchise). So do you really want to c*ckblock the game like that by pitting it against a 10million seller that releases in the same month? I mean, I think FF and GT5 would be more than able to hold their own and not effect the sales of one another in Japan if released in the same month. Especially when you consider it's a holiday month, so people are more likely to buy a couple games that month. Whereas, I can totally see the worldwide release of GT5 overshadowing GOW and sort of blocking it from really getting that mainstream push like it seems capable of this time around.

Just doesn't make alot of sense to me. Of course, that is unless that whole 65% that some people are talking about is true. Then I totally understand and agree with (even if that does mean I have to unfortunately wait longer). Maybe I'm mistaken though and overlooking something and maybe Sony has run the figures and thinks GOW will undoubtedly be able to hold it's own again GT5 and the latter won't eat into the former's sales. Though it does seem weird to protect a third party title, while possibly hindering a first party title. If they really do need to push the game back, maybe they could have found a better month? April maybe? Or if they really wanted to stick it to somebody they could've released it February beside Dante's Inferno lol (though I want both, so I really wouldn't want that--should be interesting to see the comparisons then though when GOW releases just a month after Dante's Inferno--off topic there I know). Then again, I guess they probably know more than we do, so they realize ideas of when they'll be releasing other games in that time frame like Heavy Rain and ModNation. Games that definitely couldn't hold its own against GT5 like GOW could. I just think December people would be much more likely to buy two games than in March.

However, Sony is a Japanese country so I could be completely mistaking because I'm thinking from an American perspective. Whereas if you look at it from a Japanese perspective it makes absolute sense if you're trying to cater to your hometown audience. Since GOW is virtually non-existent in Japan, it makes no difference that that is coming out in March as well.

Oh well, at least we have a release date now and don't have to keep wondering and speculating. Now we just have to wait.

BrokenAnarchy3136d ago (Edited 3136d ago )

It was on a conference program, every game had what ever percent complete (GT5 65% FFXIII 90% etc.)

Jaces3136d ago (Edited 3136d ago )

Oh hey bud. It's been awhile since you've trolled the PS3 topics, miss the fanboy bashing much?

Oh sure, let's whip out metacritic and compare scores. Scores to a GT5 demo, and GT 1-4 which I'm fairly certain that those were all in the PS2 and PS1 era. Why don't you think before you speak, you'll turn up to look less stupid in your argument.

Trying to compare Forza to PS2/PS1 era games. lmao, classic. And if you haven't forgot, GT still beat out Forza when it first showed up on Xbox.

Ausbo3136d ago

for both the 360 and the ps3

Ps3: God of war
Quantum Theory
Last Guardian
Heavy Rain
Resistance 3?

360 Fable
Mass effect
Alan Wake
Gears 3?

JL3136d ago (Edited 3136d ago )

Yea I noticed that a lil bit ago as I was going through the rest of the news. Thanks though. So I guess that nullifies my entire wall-of-text rant up there lol. They definitely don't need to be releasing the game til it's all done and polished up, that I can understand.

Though that now makes me wonder: why in the world did PD make that comment recently about being able to release the game whenever they want?

FACTUAL evidence3136d ago

was looking foward to GT5 though won't lie.....hell i think they needed more time anyway with the car damage in GT5. Well, at least this gives me an excuse to buy forza 3!

Jamegohanssj53136d ago

It's because Sony already knows that they have this year wrapped up. There's no used to half arsing games like Microsoft. Just look at our line up. But look at next years. GTA: VC on the PSN store and, and, and, well that's all I'm looking forward to lol. Nah, but GT:5 and GoW 3 all in the same month? What the hell. R.I.P other consoles.

Face Palm3136d ago

2010 is getting a little too crowded. I'm gonna spend like $240 in a month and a half on video games :/

napoleon_ist3136d ago

watch out boys, these are actual screenshots of the forza 3 demo released today, not your average photoshoped PR bullshot drop by Microsoft/Turn10. this is the real deal.

look at this sweet aliasing, check those poor graphics, notice there are only 8 cars on screen at 720p. game of the year?? jesus christ!! GT5 Prologue has 16 cars on screen with 4xAA at 720p. (2XAA at 1080p)

DaTruth3136d ago

Thought you were being serious there for a second. I looked at the shots and thought, well it looks alright, but nowhere near GT5!

@Everyone: Does Sony really need to build anymore momentum for 2009? The new price and Christmas will sell enough PS3's for them, not to mention GOW3. They probably just want to leave some big titles to show the shareholders for their fiscal 2010. First quarter is always slow for games anyway, might as well have something to boost sales for then while MS is losing their numbers from the Christmas channel stuffing!

dcbronco3136d ago

That is a lot of cars. But now with damage, better physics, chat and messages. Racing lines. Long list of things. You could have simply said now with more Forza.

3136d ago
Minimox163136d ago

But the only bad thing i see in that, is when GT5 arrive and everyone realize that GT5 its better than Forza 3 then XBOT will said that they got more time or they release the game in other year and had more time to develop it.

edgeofblade3135d ago

You children really need to grow up. I don't care who is better. In fact, I bet half of you suck at sim racing titles anyway and are just flying the fanboy flag like you always do.

TheDeadMetalhead3135d ago

No please, allow me.

GT3: 95
GT4: 89

95 + 89 = 184

Forza 1: 92
Forza 2: 90

92 + 90 = 182

Taken right from Metacritic.

It wouldve been awesome to play GT5 this Christmas, but I'm not suprised they pushed it. Not that we won't have anything to play until then (Uncharted 2, Ratchet, MW2, amongst others)

Man, 2010 is packed.

stevenhiggster3136d ago

It does blow,I'm well pissed about this. It's probably because KY saw all the sad fanboy comments about the damage and add in the poor reviews for GT PSP, he probably thought 'no way this is goping out until it is 100% perfect' which is fine by me, I just wish I didn't have to wait so long.
I guess this might get even more sales for NFS Shift on PS3. I was in 2 minds about getting it and in the end I thought "I'll just wait for GT5" but there's no way I'm waiting till March without a decent driving game.

TrevorPhillips3136d ago

March, Didn't they say October 2009. Oh man that's a long time, Oh well at least it will be out along with God of War 3.
