PSP Go Needs a Launch Party

PSP World writes:

"When Sony's new miniature, sliding PSP goes on sale October 1st, it will be released into the world without much fanfare. It is unlikely that big box retailers like Walmart will host midnight launch parties with lines snaking around the block. A few retail shops have even refused to carry the device, complaining that they won't be able to recoup much profit on game sales.

Compare the tepid level of excitement for the PSP Go with the hype surrounding the launch of the original PSP Phat. Back in 2005, Kaz Hirai even rung up the first purchase himself at a massive bash held in New York city. The PSP Go will not be getting such a splendid reception."
