HP puts more strength into Asia Pacific PC market, says regional VP

Hewlett-Packard (HP) has recently adjusted its strategy for the Asia Pacific PC market and is focusing on improving its sales channels in China, according to See Chin Teik, senior vice president of personal systems group, HP Asia Pacific and Japan.

Teik pointed out that demand recovery in China and India in the second quarter of 2009 helped the company gain a 15.3% stake in the Asia Pacific PC market, according to figures from research firm IDC. HP's combined revenues for notebooks in Southeast Asia and China in the second quarter grew 14.9% on year, Teik added.
