US forces net neutrality

The FCC's new boss is to propose new rules that would prohibit Internet service providers from interfering with the free flow of information and certain applications over their networks.

Federal Communications Commission chairman, Julius Genachowski, will announce the proposed rules today. The move is to uphold a promise that Barack Obama made during the presidential campaign to support Internet neutrality and would bar companies like Verizon, Comcast or ATT&T, from slowing or blocking certain services or content flowing through their vast networks.

Which government entity in Europe was pushing for censorship and blocking services and web pages on the net? I hope that day never comes anywhere. Information on the internet should remain free and not censored or blocked unless it is something despicable as child porn or anything of that nature. Good job America! At least we are doing something right for once.
