GameSpot: Halo 3: ODST Hands-On - Campaign Impressions

GameSpot writes: "With Halo 3: ODST due out for release in one short week, we recently had a chance to play through the game's campaign in its entirety. We won't steal too much from our upcoming review, but we figured now would be a great time to offer a refresher course on some of the big differences and additions to ODST's single-player campaign. So let's go on a run through some of ODST's unique weapons, features, and missions, such as the wonderfully enticing opening sequence".

Don't know why people WANT this to fail. If u like Halo, then this shouldn't dissapoint.

Tinted Eyes3011d ago

At least complain when they start trolling

dolan3011d ago

Want? It has already failed just by its very nature.

The 360 is almost to its 4 year mark and what does Microsoft have to show for all that time? An overpriced Halo expansion being sold for 60 dollars.

That's it.

Instead of building up their first party studios, they've been closing them down.

Instead of updating the horribly outdated Halo graphics engine, they just cranked out this addon and sat on it for the holidays.

This is Microsoft letting everyone know they aren't even trying.

But Microsoft secured a nice line-up for 2010.
Crackdown 2.
Splinter Cell Conviction.
Halo Reach.
Alan Wake.
Fable 3.
Natal and a whole bunch of launch titles (expect about three big ones)

But I have to admit that the 2009 line-up is pretty sad. Only 2 true exclusives this year: Forza 3 and ODST.
But I am really looking forward to ODST.

"But Microsoft secured a nice line-up for 2010."

Can't really tell if that was a sarcastic post or not.

I would love to watch all the people who want ODST to fail actually play it. Halo's fun. That's why people like it.

Same for L4D 2. They may not be the best looking games out today but I'm sure they're fun. And that's all that really matters, right?

Double Toasted3011d ago

You fail, just like anything that goes up against Halo...

HolyOrangeCows3011d ago

Do you want more developers making games with:
*Short Campaigns?
*Multiplayer Maps Recycled from previous game?
*Only one new mode?

And all at the price of $60?
As a gamer and a fan of all the Halo games, I don't want that for my games! I don't want developers finding that method of development to be attractive!

PROFIT3011d ago

but is THIS really it?

SaberEdge3011d ago

Sounds good. I am definitely picking this game up.

The XBOT3011d ago

Halo 3 sold ALOT more than killzone 2... dont care about sales? ok then how many people play Halo 3 online compared to killzone 2, there is NO competition.

Microsoft must have paid them off. Positive hands-on = MS bribe.

I almost got through typing that with a straight face. haha. Day one pick up. Looks great.

Aloren3011d ago

Yup, and anything negative = honest review...yeah right.

Unicron3011d ago
