All right, i stand corrected.

One reason why they should not:
" THEY BE PROFFITTINNNNNN"

"Xbox 360 and PS3 got it and now the Wii must get it too. A price cut. While a PS3 console costs 299 dollars and Xbox 360 is on the same price level as the Wii, Nintendo needs to cut the price."

This shows how stupid most "game journalists" or whatever you call them are.

The price of the Ps3 or 360 are irrelevant to the Wii itself.
Nor do their features matter.
From a bizz point of view when demand is still going strong, there is no need for a price drop. When Nintendo still has such a high demand going , why would they be affected by what Sony or MS do?
360 has been on 150 for a LONG time now, and it did no damage for Nintendo.
If demand keeps going like this, then why would Nintendo worry?

Their price drop is actually nonsensical. People say " people would just get a Ps3 since its only 50 more and it offers more!!! thats why they are dropping the price"
XBOX360 has been 100 less......

The whole industry (and economy) are recovering from a pretty bad recession. It's hard to fault any of the big three for trying to jump start their sales.

Plus, consider that if a $50 cut gives maybe 50,000 more sales month to month...

150,000 consoles at $250 = $37,500,000
200,000 consoles at $200 = $40,000,000

Nintendo would make a greater profit in that scenario.

The Wii will never see a PS3-like spike in sales. But if they can prop up month-to-month sales, they could actually make a greater profit overall.

Yes, but i was saying my thing regarding this article.
Ps3 and 360 features and price are not relevant to Wii's price-tag.
Nor does Wii's hardware specs.

Nintendo settled the price for 250, and demand basically stayed static.
Yet people keep claiming reasons why it should drop the price, while it all comes down to business.

to put the nail in the coffin and they have made enough profits already......drop the price of the wii sell another 30 million and bring on the wii2
