The sequel to the side-scrolling shooter will be exclusive to the Playstation Network of the Playstation 3.
Woohoo! Another exclusive! I love the original Soldner-X!
Aside from the great graphics, the original was ok. Hopefully the sequel can improve on the first game.
It definitely will.
Njaice! Looking forward to gameplay trailers
I barely beat the first one on the easiest difficulty. The only thing i really didn't like about the game is that there's a shared health bar in co-op. Other than that it was loads of fun even though i constantly got my butt handed to me. I need to hurry up and get a new ps3.
I liked the first one, even though its dog hard for me, but its a particle monster. 720p was disappointing, that why I was looking forward to this: Quote: "High definition graphics with 3D backgrounds in up to 1080p." I'm glad someone uses old school classic side scrollers and still squeezes todays HW. That's what I was so hoping for back in 86 (or so :) Turrican says "Hello").
If the graphics, sound track, and game play are as solid as the first definite freaking buy! And this is really a PS3 exclusive? They aren't even making a PC version to release on steam?:( Would like it on multiple platforms just so more people can experience it.
If it is on Steam, then yeah it's not an exclusive. Saying otherwise will make us hypocrites.
PSN had an updated version with little changes for a fraction of it's price. Loved many things about it. It's not too easy, it's chaotic. Music was intense. Bosses were insanely challenging. Bright visuals. Weapon upgrades.
My main gripe was not being able to reach the edge of the screen. If you die, weapons suck. Bit like Gradius.
Stop wasting your time here bots. It wont be on the failbox. ;)
I LOVED the first game, but thought it tended to be a b1t cheap in regards to level design and difficulty. I'm happy to hear that the first game did well enough that they are planning a sequel to it -- exclusive to the PS3, no less. That is a BIG investment, even these days. I'll definitely be buying the sequel; I mean, I have to give my thanks to the developers for continuing their quality PS3 support, right?
Agreed! It looked a lot better than it played last time around, and it seemed like a ramped-up freeware endeavor. I remember playing it and immediately wanting to play the sequel- I would think they will have much less trouble with the graphics end and hopefully incorporate more traditional shmup rules -especially with tiny insects not taking a billion hits to kill.
lookin good billy ray
Love this news!
i liket the side scolling of it,but the first one was hard or was it that i couldnt get past the third level lol.
..big up from Forst/Mannheim/Speyer where the MEDITATION began!!! :-) Topic: Nice..but i hope the fix the difficult, the first one was way to hard.
The first one got patched with an additional "easy mode", for noobs like myself :)
STOP IT SONY!! I HAVE NO MONEY LEFT!
ANOTHER PS3 exclusive HAS BEEN ADDED TO MY LIST.
No offense to anyone, but I hated the first one... the graphics were just so bland looking; I understand if they were going for a "retro" look, but it couldn't hurt to add some modern touches to the thing, even gameplay-wise.
I still go back to the original time and time again. I have to admit I was slightly dissapointed with the game but it has enough to keep me coming back for more. It's a very pretty game and also a great challenge!
I hope if there is a sequal they will work on power ups, the weapons for the most part are pretty uninspired and although there are uses for some weapons in particular I find myself going through the whole game just using the standard fire power.
Give us more weapons, more levels and break the health bar in half so both 1P and 2P have their own bars. Also allow the screen to stretch further. The amount of times P1 or P2 takes obscene damage because the other player is forcing the screen in another direction is PAINFULL!
Surprised to see it announced as an exclusive but as long as I get to play it and it improves on the original I'm not that bothered.
They need to incorporate an auto-split feature similar to bionic commando: rearmed. I thought that was one of the best things EVER. More titles should use it.
Good call! I've not actually played BC:R 2-player but saw a video showing the screen split and yeah, that "could" work wonderfully.
But didn't love it. Though it was rather plain. I'll pass on h this one.
I am sure this will skyrocket to the top of the popularity charts like the first one did.... oh wait.....
Wierd... It was apparantly popular enough to spawn a sequel. Oh well. Let's just hope it's as popular as Wii-fit cos we all know how great that is... Oh wait.
Anyone has 100% trophies on this one?
Ive tried and tried... but to no avail.
haha no and I don't ever see me getting 100% Some of them are PURE EVIL
the first was was average when compared to konami's beast gradius. i'll get it anyway (can't say no to a shooter). HEY KONAMI, where the hell is my HD GRADIUS COLLECTION (please). maybe i'm too much of an oldschool gamer. i don't think younger gamers are into shooters as much as fps & tps.
Do people still play side scrolling shooters? They still make you brand of people? Quick, honey, hand me my camera...
I'm not dead yet! =p
The first one was really good, but sometimes it got too f@cking hard.
