Finally, some Sonic & SEGA XBLA details

Xbox360Fanboy reports that for the first time since its announcement back at The Last E3 Ever xbox360fanboy finally have some new info regarding SEGA's involvement with Xbox Live Arcade, and the original Genesis/Mega Drive launch title, Sonic the Hedgehog. They were a little worried that Nintendo's Virtual Console scooped Microsoft, as the title's been available since the Wii's launch. SEGA's apparently going to be releasing their XBLA titles under the "SEGA Vintage Collection", with Sonic leading the pack. (Xbox 360)

Let's hope it's out this year
I remember seing a short clip of this at a gameshow waaay back when MS showed us some XBLA titles. This was the one I was looking most forward to because it's my fav game on the Sega Mega Drive.

With Sonic coming and Chess and Reversi, the future is looking bright for me on the arcade side of gaming =D

After seeing that Castle Crashers was delayed till 2008 I was worried there wasn't going to be much on XBLA that i wanted but with all these announcements my hope is renewed.

sh!t I already
Purchased Sonic on my WIi virtual console. I like the VC selection of games, I wish the 360 was the same. MS need to do some willin and dealin, how come Nintendo is getting the best games, of course they are not optimized like the 360's for network play and such.

Well this is a good step in the right Directions.

Then again I would like to play the SEGA-CD SONIC, which I thought was great. Nice tunes also...I'm sure a lot will not remember.

nintendo owns a lot of the licensing to those old games. Plus, the virtual console is just an emulation suite, so there is little additional coding that the developers have to do to bring the game over, so its basically free money to nintendo and the publisher. xbla requires certification and qa... plus needs to be able to scale to larger resolutions.

Just go and buy Sonic Mega Collection for old xbox. It works perfectly fine with 360 and you get all the different sonic games, the good old ones.

YES but Guess
which one they forgot? Yes Sonic CD.

eques judicii #4.1, thanks bro, I didn't realize that. That is easy money for Nintendo. Plus I hate that some of the games on VC are stretched, since I have a wide-screen, eventho lucky me I have a button to change the ratio size to 4:3.

SEGA vintage collection?
I wonder what the other games are going to be..? Maybe Golden Axe? Streets of Rage? Vectorman? Shinobi? Virtua Cop? That would be great.

cool....
Good to hear for people who enjoyed the classics back in the day. This is one of my fav games since Sonic is awesome. I gave many of the newer titles a try that use 3D and they suck. Many old 2D games that came to the 3D thing just lost their fun IMO.

sonic adventure on DC was great. Bring streets of rage and killer instinct to Live arcade please.
